2 Notice Inviting Expression of Interest (EoI) for providing E-catering services through online food portal to the on-board train passengers over Konkan Railway. Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) proposes to appoint an Operator for providing e-catering services through online food portal to on board train passengers over its jurisdiction. The jurisdiction of KRCL is from Roha station (excluding) on North side to Thokur station on South side. On an average 40 trains per day are running over Konkan Railway. These trains include Mail/Express trains, Janshatabdi, Garibrath, Duronto, Rajdhani and other passenger trains. The Expression of Interest (EoI) is invited from the reputed companies/firms engaged in the business of call centres / food delivery chains and firms engaged directly/indirectly in catering business and having experience in catering logistics for home deliveries of eatables/meals. The company/firm should have at least one or more Food Production outlet owned by himself or tie-up with different vendors (production with or without service element) e.g. Stand alone independent kitchen, Refreshment Room, Restaurant, Canteen, Cafeteria and Cell kitchen or any other static place where food production is done. The Unit/s, individually or combined, must have adequate logistics capability for delivery of meals in individually packed containers to the passengers on berth/seat of coaches of the stationary trains within the specified time of halt of the train at the major stations over Konkan Railway. The interested parties may submit their credentials including past experience in the EoI format enclosed along with the detailed profile of their company/firm, experience financial standings etc so as to reach to the office of the Chief Commercial Manager, Konkan Railway Corporation Limited, Near Railway over bridge, Ravanfond, Madgaon Goa on or before 15:00 hrs on 30/09/2015 in a sealed envelope. 1. Role of the on-line food portal operator: a) On-line food portal operator (operator) shall develop or utilise the existing software (if owned by them) / portal / Mobile App for obtaining orders for meals from the passengers. Link for on-line food portal will be given on Konkan Railway website b) Operator shall provide adequate number of phone line to take the orders on phone /SMS/Mobile application/internet. c) Operator shall tie-up with the reputed and branded vendors for supply of meals/eatables in the trains.

3 d) Operator shall tie up with the banks for payment gateway to facilitate the payment of the meals through credit card / debit card / bank account or any other electronic method by the passengers. Operator may also make available the option for cash on delivery to the passengers. e) Vendor wise location, contact details, menu with rates, capability for production and delivery of meals shall be uploaded on the website. Delivery time of each unit/location as well as menu items shall also be specified on the website. f) Operator shall submit the proposals of Vendors for approval of KRCL in the format enclosed as Annexure B. Operator shall supply the meals / eatables from such approved vendors only. g) Operator shall communicate (through mail and telecom) the details of the meals/eatables, quantity, station, train, name of passenger/s, coach/berth, contact no etc to the vendor for proper delivery of meals to the passengers. h) Operator should ensure the delivery of the pre ordered meal to the passengers in the train at the berth/coach. i) The contract for Operator shall be for a period of five years on yearly renewal basis on satisfactory performance. j) Operator shall pay the prescribed license fee to the KRCL for operating the above services in advance every year. 2. Approval of Vendors : a) Operator shall submit the proposals for approval of the Vendors in the format enclosed as Annexure - B. The approval process shall include verification of the credentials of the Vendors, inspection of the base kitchens/premises from where the meals/eatables are supplied etc. b) Only branded and reputed agencies will be considered for approval.

4 c) Traders / stockists / Distributors engaged in distribution of packaged food items are not eligible. 3. KRCL may consider preparing a preliminary list from the Expression of Interest (EOI) received. The evaluation of EOI of the eligible applicants will be done by duly verifying their credentials by a Committee to be appointed by KRCL for this purpose. KRCL reserves the right to accept or reject any or all the applications of EOI received and KRCL will not be bound to give any reason for rejection of the application/s. KRCL also reserves the right to award the Contract by inviting Limited or Open Tender as deemed necessary. 4. Detailed terms and conditions will be included in the tender document and agreement to be executed before taking over the facility. 5. The Expression of Interest(EoI) format as enclosed in Annexure-A can be downloaded from the website of or can be obtained free of cost from the office of Chief Commercial Manager, Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd, Rawanfond, Madgaon, Pin The filled in Expression of Interest shall be dropped in the Drop Box kept for the purpose at the address mentioned above, on or before 15:00 hrs on 30/09/2015 or to be sent by post so as to reach on the stipulated date by the stipulated time. The offers will be opened at 15:30 hrs on 30/09/2015. The applicants or their representatives can also remain present at the time of the opening. 6 6 In case of Firm registered under partnership Act - Please enclose details of partners alongwith certificate of registration, details of their business and partnership deed etc duly attested by Notary 7 In case of Trust / Society / Section 25 Company- Trust deed / Memorandum f Association of society and rules / sec 25 Association along with certificates of incorporation and date of commencement of nusiness etc As applicable. 8 The applicant should be a reputed company/firm engaged in the business of call centres / food delivery chains or firm engaged directly / indirectly in catering business and having experience in catering logistics for home deliveries of the eatables/meals. The applicant is expected to have at least one or more Food Production outlet owned by himself or tieup with different vendors (production with or without service element) e.g. Stand alone independent kitchen, Refreshment Room, Restaurant, Canteen, Cafeteria and Cell kitchen or any other static place where food production is done. It may or may not have service element of serving prepared food apart from sale to the customers. The units must have meal production and packing capacity to cater at least 200 meals in all individual services for meal items in services of breakfast, Lunch, Snacks and Dinner. The Unit/s, individually or combined, must have adequate logistics capability for delivery of meals in individually packed containers to the passengers on berth/seat of coaches of the stationary trains within the specified time of halt of the train at the major stations over Konkan Railway. Enclose copy of PFA/FSSAI license or any statutory license issued by the Authority for the units. The units for which above information is given shall only be eligible to be considered for empanelment for supply and delivery to nearby Railway stations. 9 Minimum three years experience in the business of call centres/food delivery chains or direct / indirect catering business or catering logistics for home deliveries of the eatables/meals or catering of Food production (kitchen) and hospitality in India involving production and sale / service of cooked food items. Applicants may submit PFA/FSSAI for each unit, letter of commencement or experience letter from Competent Authority in support of above clause. 10 Annual Turnover (in Lakhs): (Last three Years) 11 Experience in the field
