3 4. MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES This job description aims to give a broad outline as to the requirements of the role. Where jobs have more than one post holder, there may be variations in accountabilities. Goods In Unload and review product against quality specifications, recording details either manually or on handheld scanners and taking samples of all incoming produce. Check and record transport conditions and report any non compliance issues. Apply traceability labels and move pallets into the required locations. Assess the weights, colours and defects of produce to ensure that produce is within T.E.M. specification and that the physical condition of pallets is acceptable. Record results on sheets, computer and/or scanner. Assess problems which will require further attention and communicate the results to the appropriate individuals in a timely manner. Packhouse Supply raw materials to the production lines. Following the daily production plan and liaise closely with the Senior Line Operative or Section Leader to ensure that any downtime is minimised. Report packing and quality issues to Senior Line Operators and Section Leaders and provide advice on the correct procedure/requirements. Check label changes at the start of each new product run. Work alongside the Senior Line Operator, setting the quality standards on the production lines. Check the quality of the produce on a frequent basis to ensure that the produce is packed within supermarket specifications. Check product against customer specifications and positively release each completed pallet, ensuring that the appropriate packaging has been used and that the necessary labelling is applied to each pallet before taking the pallets away to their intended destination. Transfer any unused produce or over production and return it to the specified location ensuring that it is correctly recorded on the scanners. General material handling duties as required, often with the use of electric barrows. Ensure all trucks are inspected according to the pre shift check routine and that the inspection sheets are completed. Report any faults to maintenance for repair and in such cases, locate another truck to use. Pre Despatch & Admin Check against customer specifications and positively release each pallet that has either been issued from the storage system or has not previously been checked. This must be done in a timely manner to ensure that the loading of lorries is not delayed. Check the quality of all shelf life samples over a defined period. Check and record changes to weight, colour and condition, recording details on the database. Any issues such as incorrect labelling or quality defects to be reported to the Technical Team for urgent action. Carry out daily checks of facilities and equipment and file daily line production run records. Responsibility for the availability and condition of an individually issued QC toolkit. Follow clean as you go policy and carry out scheduled cleaning of QC areas.

4 5. LEVEL OF AUTONOMY AND DECISION MAKING The job holder is required to make accurate assessment of product and take appropriate action to remedy issue. Unresolved quality issues should be referred to the line manager. 6. COMMUNICATIONS The main internal contacts of the post are: Warehouse staff, Production staff and Administration staff within the production area when checking and recording the quality of the produce. Commercial staff to report on the quality of the product. Communication methods used are: verbal, written reports and data entry. The main external contacts of the post are: Growers, suppliers, surveyors this is on an infrequent / where necessary basis. Communication is: verbal with and surveyors, written reports to suppliers 7. COMPLEXITY The main sources of complexity are: Time and priority management. Implementation of latest T.E.M. and customer specifications. 8. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED Ability to work flexibly on their own and as part of a close knit team in order to deliver accurate and thorough QC services in the T.E.M. business. Able to understand and interpret specification and use as a basis for routine decision making and actions. A determined and flexible individual, able to communicate with confidence at all levels both externally and within T.E.M. 9. WORKING HOURS AND BENEFITS 7 day a week operation, 42.5 hours per week on a flexible shift basis (e.g ). Holidays 25 days + statutory allowance. Potential for overtime (non guaranteed). 10.
