To be responsible for the setting up, establishment and embedding of the Men s Sheds Cymru Project and movement within Wales. The project will develop a network of Men s Sheds across Wales and will directly benefit at least 500 men with a focus on those who are socially isolated. The Project Manager will be responsible for all elements of the day to day operation and coordination of the project. The Project Manager will line manage and direct the two Regional Advocates and will be the strategic lead for the project in its dealings with local and national government, businesses and organisations. A2, B2/3, C3, D2/3, E2/3, F2, G3, H2, I2/3, J2 refer to Competency Requirements document for details Key Accountabilities The day to day leadership, co-ordination and delivery of the Men s Sheds Cymru project on behalf of and the steering group. To line manage 2 Regional Advocates and the Project Administrator in accordance with policies and practice, including induction, training, supervision and appraisals. To develop an annual marketing plan, manage, monitor and report on progress quarterly. To make presentations to target groups and to make representations at relevant meetings or forums across Wales which can help awareness or the project delivery. To assist the Steering Group in the growth of the Men s Sheds Cymru Association to a point where it can become sustainable in its own right. To effectively and positively develop and manage external relationships including representing the project and the association on a local, regional and national basis.
Develop, promote and embed the positive values and ethos of the Men s Sheds Cymru Association in all Men s Sheds being developed across Wales. The day to day direction and coordination of all Men s Sheds Cymru volunteer advocates to ensure that an effective message is being communicated across Wales. To be the main contact with the project funders and to ensure that all progress reports and claims are completed accurately and on time. Identify their own, project team and volunteer training needs and work with Steering Group to input into a training plan to ensure appropriate project delivery skills. Lead the project with a solutions focussed approach, identifying problems or areas for improvement and pro-actively seeking solutions and developments. Lead by example to demonstrate the value of the Men s Sheds concept and to always demonstrate enthusiasm and a can do attitude To ensure all systems and protocols are effective and deliver all required monitoring and reporting requirements in order to ensure delivery against all targets, outcomes and outputs required from the project funders. Ensure that all staff and volunteers involved in the project are aware of health and safety policy and procedures and that these are adhered to at all times. To develop a sustainable business plan to continue the work of the project following the initial funding period. Lead on effective internal evaluation of the project and to regularly report back to senior management and the project Steering Group about the progress towards targets.
