Job Title: Technology Manager Robotics & Autonomous Systems Grade: Technology Manager Duration of Contract: Permanent Department/Theme: Robotics and Autonomous Systems Location: The Manufacturing Technology Centre Ltd., Ansty Park, Coventry, CV7 9JU. Reporting To: Chief Engineer Intelligent Automation Job Purpose: To coordinate and manage the MTC research program and resources in the area of robotics and autonomous systems (an integral part of the Intelligent Automation research theme), to meet the needs of clients and stakeholders Duties & Responsibilities: Provide line management & technical leadership to all SREs AREs and REs in the research area. Support the development of research team through coaching & mentoring of staff; Technical leadership and management of project and/or work package portfolio > 250K; Lead engagement with existing customers to win new and repeat business through project proposal and business case writing; Lead technical liaison with customer during project delivery; Collaborate with colleagues in MTC Sector and Programme Management groups to successfully deliver research projects; 746 JD Technology Manager Robotics (v5) Page 1 of 6

Understanding of the roles and needs of different client groups Capable of managing complex projects and providing leadership to a project team to ensure on time / on budget delivery Experience Background in Engineering or Science with particular expertise in Robotics and Autonomous Systems for and in collaboration with industry. Significant experience in either an academic research or industrial R&D environment developing automation systems for industrial/manufacturing applications. Background in the setup, improvement or operation of a wide range of manufacturing processes. Experience of securing research funds from external sources (such as Government agencies), or project resources from internal company sources Substantial experience of having produced and reviewed technical reports and/or guidance materials on engineering or science topics.
