4 GRANULAR FERTILIZER 3 & 5 STAR 3 Star and 5 Star Programs The starter effect of our 3 and 5 Star fertilizers promotes early root development, allows plants to rapidly grow on greater soil volume and maximizes access to nutrients. That s what starters are for! Therefore, the plant is less exposed during its vulnerable stage during the spring when everything is going against it (cold ground, diseases, limited access to resources, etc.). Even in very favourable conditions like those we enjoyed in 2016, there are no yield gains without a good start-up. 5 Liquid starters with a 32% solution slow down the growth of new small roots because the urea they contain goes through the ammoniacal phase (NH 3 ) before transforming into nitrogen available to plants. This ammoniacal phase is harmful to small, fragile developing roots and provides the opposite effect to what is expected from a starter: GIVING CROPS A GOOD START! Our tests have shown that impact when using our High Performance 3 and 5 Star fertilizers, both granular and liquid, that are designed to provide what it takes when spring comes: a good START for plants to develop roots as soon as possible! This fertilization logistic is attractive for many in the spring, but it often comes at a price in the fall. Yields are not always optimal, as the thresher will tell you! Regular types of liquid fertilizers are not designed to reach the many tons of your crops. Our 3 and 5 Star liquid fertilizers were designed by the same performance enthusiasts who have developed our 3 and 5 Star granular fertilizers that are so popular! Same concept and same starting logic all in liquid form. Moreover, these liquid starters are locally developed and produced in Quebec!

12 The principle of boosting root development early in the spring is very important, especially in our cold and humid regions which, lest we forget, are significantly different from our neighbours in the Corn Belt who set the price of corn. 40% Nitrogen, 5.5% Sulfur in the same granule True homogenous product ensures uniformity of application ,5 (S) AMIDAS is the ideal nitrogen product to be applied to the ground and incorporated into the soil just before seeding. The genius of this product is so simple: urea applied at pre-plant incorporation is very useful, but unfortunately it has high ph which favours the passage of nitrogen to its ammonium form (NH3). This is toxic to small developing roots. So what do we do? We develop urea with an acidic ph that does not promote the ammoniacal phase! That s it, that s all! We should have thought of that before! Even better, 13% of nitrogen released by AMIDAS is in ammonium form. It s pretty amazing to see how this simple concept works. Our tests clearly demonstrate this. Since we have been conducting our tests, we have always obtained the same efficiency: AMIDAS and UREA preplant incorporated (62 kg/acre Nitrogen) Grain corn yield (Bu/Acre) Bu/Acre BU/ACRE 17 $ NET GAIN/ACRE Corn yield increase per acre with Amidas compared to Urea. 13 NITROGEN IN NON-INCORPORATED PRE-PLANT Are your farming operations constraining you to apply your pre-plant nitrogen and then leaving it on the ground without incorporating it? Agronomic and chemical characteristics of urea increase losses by volatilization if urea is not incorporated into the soil. AMIDAS can help you limit these losses due to its acidic ph, which reduces up to 35% of volatilization losses. The acidic ph creates less ammonia (NH 3 ), which is the form that evaporates into the atmosphere. Genius! 14 NITROGEN IN SPLIT APPLICATIONS An optimal program provides nitrogen to the plant when it needs it, to make sure you reach all the potential corn tonnage that the yield of your field can offer. Applying AMIDAS in pre-plant incorporation provides the corn plant enough nitrogen up to its five to six-leaf stage (collar method), where the 32% solution takes over. The starter does not ensure the availability of nitrogen up to this critical stage. Applying 32% solution earlier, at the two to three-leaf stage (collar method) remedies this, but it also limits the availability of nitrogen later when the plant reaches the grain filling stage, which could result in losing tons of corn! The program combines the application of AMIDAS in pre-plant incorporation, followed by the application of the 32% solution in incorporated strips at the five to six-leaf stage of the corn (collar method). It allows you to make the most of the characteristics of these two efficient products when applied at the right time, dosage and place. Pure synergy! Moreover, the application of AMIDAS in pre-plant is a great insurance policy in cases where the application of 32% solution would be delayed (mechanical failure, field conditions limiting access, etc.) Our tests highlight the synergy where we do not compare products, but the combination of products with the same amount of nitrogen... It s the strength of an effective program!
