2 INTRODUCTION The climate change is a phenomenon of global warming as a result of unimpeded growth of greenhouse gas emissions. The higher temperatures, changes in rainfall and soil moisture, and increased frequencies of extreme meteorological events are the indicators for theclimatechange.agricultureisvulnerabletoclimatechange.highertemperatureeventually reduce yields of desirable crops while encouraging weed and pest proliferation. Hence the climatechangepotentiallythreateningthefoodsupply.thevulnerabilityisdependentonthe natureofclimaticchange,regionalclimaticsensitivityandthecapacitytoadaptthechanges. Adaptationreferstoresponsestothechangingclimateandimplementationofpolicies tominimizethepredictedimpactofclimatechange.adaptationhasthepotentialtoreducethe magnitude of the challenges associated with climate change and to take advantage of the possiblebenefits.theimprovementoflandmanagement,maintenanceofsoilcarboncontent and efficient use of fertilizers and irrigation have been shown to be effective and synergistic withsustainabledevelopment.newplantspeciesandhybridsthatareresistanttodroughtand heat,aswellasdevelopmentoftechnologyandpractices,improvementoffarmmanagement, developmentofpoliciesrelatedtofoodandenergysecuritythatincreasedagriculturalsystem flexibilityisnecessarytobetakentosustainagricultureandfoodsupply. Discussionwillencompassallaspectsofagriculture:agriculturalbiotechnologytobreed plants and animals that are tolerant to the changing climate; rural development and agribusiness; food security and development of bio energy, bio resources management and revitalizationoflocalwisdometc. OBJECTIVES 1. Toencourageandcreateawarenessofthepeopleonclimatechangeanditspossible impacttovariousaspectsofagricultureparticularlyinsoutheastasia. 2. Toshareandexchangecurrentinformationontechnologicaladvancementaswellas policiesrelatedtotheadaptationtoclimatechange.

3 TENTATIVEPROGRAMME Thecongressisopentoresearchers,academicians,practitionersandgraduatestudents whoaremembersofissaas.therewillbetwosessions: 1. Symposium that will focus on the theme, consisting of keynote addresses and plenary lecturesbyinvitedspeakersfromdifferentmembercountries. 2. Scientific meeting that will cater for research areas related to agriculture and climate changeintheformoforal/posterpresentationsbyparticipants. CALLFORPAPER Papers of relevant topics with the theme of the congress are invited for oral and poster presentations.intendingauthorsmustsendtheircompletedregistrationforms,withthetitles of the papers and an abstract not exceeding 250 words before 31 August All abstracts must be in English. Manuscripts should be prepared on A4 size paper, typed single spacing using standard 11 font of Time New Roman in Microsoft Word with 2.5 cm margin at top, bottomandbothsides.oralpresentationarelimitedto15minutesincludingtimesforquestion and answer. Poster must be of A1 size.
