4 Detailed list of developed applications Applications developed during education The title of my dissertation for the master degree is Complex systems interaction simulation: neural networks. In the dissertation I explained the results of a C++ program that simulates the interaction between different neuronal networks. The program was entirely written by me for Windows operating systems and it could make use of CPU parallelism. I can send code samples on request. The development of a new version that can use the GPU parallelism is at its early stages. The dissertation scored 10/10 and is available online in Italian: For my Laurea triennale exam (Bachelor degree) I developed a program (c++, Windows OS) that, given a meteosat image as input, produces the most likely next meteosat image as output. The program was developed for my 3-years dissertation and was based on a set of neural networks that had been trained by the same program using sample sequences of images. The dissertation scored 10/10. For my high school degree I developed a program using Turbo Pascal 6 which parsed user defined functions and drew the corresponding graph. Main applications developed for SyNTHEMA s.r.l. Speech area I developed the software "Traduttore Vocale" (voice translator) using c++. It was the first software that could transcribe Italian speech, translate it into English and read the translation, much like an human interpreter. Traduttore Vocale could also translate documents from English into Italian. It was based on Via Voice and Text-to-Speech engines from IBM and the translation engine from SyNTHEMA. It was distributed in Italy by DLI. I publicly shown this software at the SMAU fair in Milan. Website: I developed a multilingual medical reporting software, with centralized vocal profiles and online or offline error correction and vocal profiles improvement. The software is written in C++ and allows advanced editing and vocal correction of dictated text. It is currently installed at the hospital in Merano, Italy. Website: I developed an application that helps in the work of cleaning raw documents in order to create personalized dictionaries for Viavoice and Dragon speech recognition engines. The application can quickly determine frequency and position of tens of thousands words within a large set of documents (some gigabytes of data). I developed an Android application that performs realtime speech recognition, using speech profiles stored on remote servers. The speech recognition is performed by Nuance speech recognition engine. The balancing system is written in php, while the audio transcription and network communication is written in c++. Within the SAVAS project I m developing a real time subtitling modular application that can work via Internet using p2p protocol. The application supports both Nuance and SAVAS speech recognition engines. An experimentation of this software for live subtitling of European Parliament sessions should start in a few months. I developed the updated version of Traduttore Vocale, that is based on Nuance speech recognition engine (Dragon). I developed a software that synchronizes vocal profiles on different working stations. The software handles possible net problems that may arise in a large network. This software is used by the Camera dei Deputati, a branch of the Italian Parliament. I developed some customizations of an audio editing software, committed by Camera dei Deputati. I developed a software for handling the creation of annotated data that is used to train a new speech recognition engine, within the SAVAS European project. 5 Image processing I developed an application that can detect and enhances tables in very noisy images in real time. I developed an application that identifies markers on scanned document images. The application can also correct distorted or rotated images in real time. This program is used by the University of Pisa to show digitalized exam reports. I developed an application that identifies checkboxes and determine their state. It is used to correct multiple choice tests for the University of Pisa. I am responsible for SyNTHEMA OCR software used by some government departments. Various I developed a middleware that standardizes the communication between applications and human interface devices (HID periphals). The software allows applications to receive notifications about user actions on supported HID devices. It also allows macro creation and execution. I developed a dll that is used by multiple applications to work on multiuser dictionaries. The dll works on Windows, Linux and Windows mobile devices. I developed other minor applications (installations using Wise program and Visual Studio 2010, a program used to give access rights to folders and registry to users during installations and a program that uses Microsoft Word to automatically create one text file out of many documents in different formats and subfolders). At present, I m the technical responsible for SAVAS European project for SyNTHEMA. Main applications developed for Telcen s.r.l. e WelcomeItalia s.p.a. I developed the automatic test suite for Blue s 2000 software. The test suite checked for resolved bugs so that they won t pop up anymore in subsequent updates. The tests were written in a specific metalanguage and ran by a program that I developed using Microsoft Visual Test. I developed an invoicing engine in T-SQL language on Microsoft SQL Server database. The engine calculated the required data for invoicing using raw call data. It also outputs all data required for monitoring the correct operation of the system. I developed the program that created PDF invoices out of the data produced by the engine. This program was written in Microsoft Visual Basic. I developed the software Blue's Budget, a prepaid telephone traffic system that interfaced with external devices using a proprietary protocol. I contributed to the "Blue's Home" project. Main applications developed just for hobby I developed a php program that downloads s form mailing lists and inserts them into a MySQL database. The application allows to search the database via web. Users can save and review their preferred s. I developed a system that recognizes letters and numbers drawn on screen using a mouse. The program was based on a neural network. I also developed a program that automatically drew letters and numbers on screen so to train the neural network. I wrote a C++ application that catalogs s and allows for searches. This application doesn t use an external database. I wrote an application that quickly identifies replicated files in folders that are choosen by the user. The program allows for deletion of unwanted copies. I wrote a program that creates the graph of the intensity of the sound, given an audio file as input. This software allows layout and printing and is used to monitor progresses of dyslexic children.
