My name is Ulrich Hauke and I'm part of the SAP S/4HANA Product Management. 00:00:21 In this week, we will cover a new implementation of an SAP S/4HANA based on a case study. Now in the first unit, we will start with the planning phase. 00:00:34 Let us look at the situation of a dynamically growing enterprise. As an example, let's take a wholesale company specialized in consumer IT brands. 00:00:44 Throughout this week, we will take this company as a case study to illustrate with that journey how to jump-start a new SAP S/4HANA on-premise edition in a cloud-like implementation experience 00:00:56 using SAP Activate best practices. Our case study company is based in the Netherlands, so we will call them Dutch IT Trading Company Ttrade for short. 00:01:09 Ttrade has grown very fast and became a major player on the Dutch market in the past years. 400 staff working with 5,000 business partners to distribute 300 global brands. 00:01:22 Their biggest challenge is to maintain and expand their position as a major player in a constantly volatile, competitive environment. As a result, the need for a solution to support that growth and allow for scale accordingly has become a priority for Ttrade. 00:01:41 Responding to increasing competition and technology-driven business process innovations, the company is poised to invest in a piece of enterprise management software 00:01:50 with capabilities far beyond the traditional ERP system. The CIO was asked by the board to look for a new enterprise management system 00:02:01 that can replace the existing system in a short time and with a low total cost of ownership, high quality, and strong involvement of the business in the design phase. 00:02:12 The software evaluation and selection led very quickly to the purchasing decision to buy and implement SAP S/4HANA, on-premise edition as soon as possible. 00:02:26 But how can Ttrade's project team get ready for the implementation project? What guidance can they get from SAP to implement SAP S/4HANA? 00:02:36 Are there any best practices from SAP? The answer is "Yes". 00:02:41 This innovative SAP Activate for SAP S/4HANA. SAP Activate provides SAP Best Practices, methodology, and guided configuration for any path 00:02:52 and deployment option of SAP S/4HANA. This leads to faster, less service-intensive implementation, while actively managing qualities for successful implementation. 00:03:06 It can be used by the customer, implementation partner, and of course it's the heart of SAP's implementation service that we will demonstrate in Week 4. 00:03:20 Now what are the building blocks of SAP Activate? First, SAP Best Practices 00:03:27 that exist for business processes, each of the SAP S/4HANA solutions, such as SAP S/4HANA Enterprise Management, and each of the cloud solutions; 00:03:39 migration content that allows pure data migration if you come from a non-sap ERP system or database migration if you come from an SAP ERP system; 00:03:50 and integration content that lets you easily set up integration between SAP S/4HANA and any of SAP's LoB solutions. Second, tools for a guided configuration, including some very new tools for the deployment of the cloud solutions, 00:04:07 such as the self-service configuration. But also very robust and enhanced tools for the deployment of on-premise solutions such as the solution builder 00:04:16 or the new version of SAP Solution Manager 7.2. And third, one agile implementation methodology for cloud and on-premise.

2 00:04:29 This methodology is a great start for Ttrade to create a plan based on SAP's implementation roadmap, containing all important steps and tasks sorted along all phases of the implementation project. 00:04:50 A very essential step is the identification of the right skills for the right roles required to conduct a successful implementation. Thanks to the SAP Activate enablement and certification program, 00:05:03 content is available and can be consumed through SAP learning platforms such as opensap, Learning Hub, and traditional classroom training. 00:05:13 On the next slides, we will look into each of the building blocks in more detail, starting with the enablement, methodology, best practices, and, last but not least, the configuration tools. 00:05:30 On this slide, you can see an overview of the enablement offerings for SAP S/4HANA which are relevant for the project team members. Following the top line here... 00:05:46 from the left to the right... the course content is provided through different channels and on different levels of granularity. 00:05:53 Starting with opensap that provides a solid understanding of must-knows in a Massive Open Online Course format. Then more detailed role and application-specific education is available through Learning Hub with e-learning, 00:06:10 collaborative learning rooms, SAP live system access, and so on. And last but not least, the traditional, most comprehensive, instructor-led classroom training. 00:06:22 For SAP S/4HANA, there are two main tracks, one providing training from a business perspective for roles such as business process owners, 00:06:32 business process consultants, application consultants, and application architects. And the track below addresses more the transition aspects, such as new implementation, system conversion, 00:06:44 and landscape transformation for roles such as solution architects, technical consultants, and system landscape architects. Ttrade is using the opensap channel in conjunction with the SAP Learning Hub 00:06:59 to get each of their members prepared for the new implementation project. They identify the specific offerings using the enablement journey for SAP S/4HANA that I would like to demonstrate to you quickly. 00:07:15 So under this address you can access the learning journeys. Then we see the different "learning journeys". 00:07:46 Let's call the learning journey for the SAP implementation. And all the learning journeys are structured in the same way. 00:07:55 It starts with a quick orientation in the learning rooms of the Learning Hub. And the opensap channel classroom trainings, handbooks, live access, and so on. 00:08:08 Then I track how to become fully competent, providing more detailed information, down to the level of "Stay up to date!", so delta information such as what's new in :08:24 in terms of innovation highlights and scope or in terms of the implementation. So let's go back to the slides. 00:08:38 Let us now come to the next building block the SAP Activate methodology The Activate methodology provides one methodology for all deployment models, cloud, hybrid, or onpremise, 00:08:53 including all transition scenarios to SAP S/4HANA. It's a prescriptive, comprehensive work procedure for project teams, deliverables for project managers and accelerators for all users. 2

3 00:09:07 It is state of the art using the SAP Best Practices, fit to standard analysis, application visualization, and cloud technology. It succeeds the ASAP methodology and SAP Launch methodology. 00:09:22 And access to the roadmap is free. And what you can do from here is you can start with downloading a project plan. 00:10:07 This project plan is available for the releases 1610 and 1511, in two formats: in XML, to be imported into Solution Manager, 00:10:18 or in Microsoft Project format to include it in a Microsoft project or compatible program. This provides you with all the activities, work breakdown structure, and time dependencies. 00:10:32 Next, what you can see here on the screen are the phases of the Activate methodology, Discover, Prepare, Explore, Realize, and so on. 00:10:43 So if, for instance, we go to Explore... Here we are now on the next level... 00:10:55 And below the level of the phases, you see the level of "deliverables". And the deliverables are again structured into "tasks". 00:11:09 So beneath the deliverables are tasks. Let us now come to the building block of SAP Best Practices. 00:11:54 The SAP Business Best Practices for SAP S/4HANA. Best Practices provides preconfigured content for core processes with role-specific, responsive, and simple UI. 00:12:08 You can manage multiple geographies, divisions, subsidiaries, and ledgers with global and country-specific content. Analytical content is included, as well as the UX Fiori content providing the infrastructure for the deployment, testing, and extension 00:12:26 of S/4 HANA user interface components. SAP Best Practices offers integration to SAP cloud solutions, like SuccessFactors or Ariba. 00:12:40 What's new with 1610? The number of scope items has been nearly doubled to more than 90 scope items, covering 20 end-to-end solutions. 00:12:50 The content has been and will be localized for more than 14 countries. Moreover, the new flexible ledger allows companies to choose between single or parallel accounting. 00:13:04 Ttrade decides to leverage the localized version of SAP Best Practices for the Netherlands. And here you can start browsing the SAP S/4HANA solution packages. 00:13:43 Again, here are a couple of Best Practices besides the Best Practices for processes. We now choose the one for processes. 00:13:56 And we select the version for the Netherlands. So what you can now do is browse through the content, look at the business benefits, 00:14:10 key competitive differentiators, software requirements, down to the level of each of the LoBs and scope items. For each scope item, like for instance "Sell from Stock", we provide you with process flows, process models, test scripts, 3

4 00:14:38 and the building blocks, which consist of "configuration guides" that describe step by step all the configuration steps necessary to get these processes up and running in the system. 00:15:00 Besides this, there are a couple of building blocks in the library here. Okay. 00:16:41 Let us now come to the last building block, the tools. The first tool to mention is solution builder. 00:16:47 That is integrated right into the SAP S/4HANA stack and can be started with a specific transaction "/smb/bbi". It automates the initial client configuration according to the SAP Best Practices configuration guides we saw earlier in the demo 00:17:06 in order to reduce the manual work to a minimum. In the next unit, we will learn the recommended tool usage. 00:17:17 The second tool is SAP Solution Manager 7.2. SAP recommends using SAP Solution Manager 7.2 together with SAP Best Practices for SAP S/4HANA 00:17:30 when implementing SAP S/4HANA to get your teams ready for digital transformation. Solution Manager is designed in a way that business drives IT 00:17:42 and is optimized for efficient implementation for SAP S/4HANA. With a completely new Fiori-based user experience and business process management, 00:17:53 SAP Solution Manager 7.2 becomes highly relevant for the line of business. Therefore SAP Solution Manager 7.2 is the single source of truth, 00:18:05 not only for your landscape and systems but also for your business processes. It supports four end-to-end processes. 00:18:14 First, portfolio to project. Business demands are prioritized and matched with the IT supply here. 00:18:22 Budget is pre-approved and projects are initiated for execution. Second, requirements to deploy. 00:18:31 Here you roll in the demand compared to standard SAP Best Practices. Move to the design of the to-be processes. 00:18:39 Support development work, test, and deploy to production. Third, request to fulfill. 00:18:48 Here IT support can create service catalogs, provisioning an execution for services delivered by the IT to business, where the business can log on to a webshop and order those services. 00:19:05 Fourth, detect to correct. This includes proactively monitoring business processes on an applicational system level, 00:19:13 creation of incidents out of alerts or from users, and moving them to problems or requesting for change to optimize the solution. 00:19:26 SAP Best Practices for SAP S/4HANA are highly integrated into SAP Solution Manager 7.2 to jump-start your implementation with standard content. 00:19:38 Specifically, these are the process models that let you define your solution by selecting from an SAP Best Practices process library complete with process models, process diagrams, test scripts, and links to executables, such as Fiori apps in your solution. 00:19:57 Configuration content to understand and document how SAP Best Practices are configured in the configuration guides and activate or adjust the configuration in your solution. 4

As seen earlier, you can download and import the WBS templates based on your Activate 00:20:19 to understand the typical project tasks and prepare your own project. You can easily make use of SAP Best Practices content by importing it to Solution Manager, 00:20:32 as already shown in the last opensap course Implementation of SAP S/4HANA. Before we look into the next steps, first let us consider how we are going to proceed in general at this stage. 00:20:51 We will start with an appliance that already has the software installed and is fully configured with SAP Best Practices. Next we evaluate how the configuration fits our needs 00:21:04 and identify what is not required and what needs to be changed. And finally, we need to set up the system according to our needs, adopting SAP Best Practices where necessary. 00:21:17 This is the approach that Ttrade is using. We highly recommend this approach for new implementations. 00:21:24 By this we mean doing a fresh installation and configuration of the software on a machine, and then migrating legacy data. Ttrade has completed planning, initial implementation, and setup of the project team in record time 00:21:40 by leveraging SAP Activate best practices and methodology. Now they are ready to move to the next important step of the implementation. 00:21:50 In the next units we will cover some crucial implementation steps. 6 Week 2 Unit 2 00:00:14 Welcome to Week 2, Unit 2 System Landscape Setup and Installation. In this unit, Ttrade will prepare the system landscape composed of a sandbox system, development system, 00:00:29 quality assurance, and production system. Right from the beginning, the whole solution lifecycle is managed with SAP Solution Manager 7.2 that has been installed already. 00:00:41 So all we need to do is to connect the SAP landscape to SAP Solution Manager and prepare the implementation project. Fit to standard analysis is done in a sandbox system that is in SAP s Cloud Appliance Library, 00:00:59 leveraging the SAP S/4HANA appliance with pre-configured business processes. We will see in more detail what is included in the appliance as well as how to consume it. 00:01:11 Configurations are conducted in the development system and are transported to the quality assurance system for testing and later to the production system for productive usage. 00:01:24 These systems are planned and prepared from scratch using new tools such as maintenance planner and solution builder. Now let us start with having a look at the sandbox setup with an appliance for SAP S/4HANA. 00:01:42 A software appliance in the sense of this unit is a software bundle think of a big ZIP file that contains the product (the ABAP coding), the database (the HANA database), the needed configuration, and optionally some sample data. 00:02:01 Technically, the system behaves like an installation from scratch and can be further configured and enhanced. For the SAP S/4HANA appliance, there are three use cases described on this slide. 00:02:16 The first use case is "trial". Generally, the 30-day hosted trial in the SAP Cloud Appliance Library is the main channel for this. 00:02:26 You can use the SAP Best Practices pre- configuration with sample master and transactional data to explore the possibilities for your company. 00:02:36 Besides the standard SAP Best Practices, documented sample end-to-end processes are also included. Use case 2 covers a sandbox setup. 00:02:47 Since sandboxing typically takes longer and you might want to preserve the results, a longer-lasting instance is needed either as hosted subscription in the SAP Cloud Appliance Library, 00:03:01 at AWS for instance, or in your local data center now via download. Use case 3 accelerates the setup of a POC (proof of concept) system. 00:03:14 Ttrade is using the appliance for speeding up the setup of their sandbox system so actually use case 2 was based on a hosted subscription in the SAP CAL. 00:03:27 Let's have a quick look at a short demo here. So this is the Cloud Appliance Library. 00:03:35 You can reach that under "cal.sap.com", and log on with a user. 00:03:43 And now Ttrade has already activated its current SAP S/4HANA 1610 appliance. And this activation takes about minutes. 00:03:57 After activation is completed, you get the green sign here, the "Active" sign. Then you simply need to connect to the system, you get the Fiori launchpad, 00:04:08 log on with your user, password, and we'll have a look at the clients on the following slide. We now log on to client :04:21 There are a couple of prepared clients. Now after logging on, we get the Fiori launchpad. 00:04:28 This user that we logged on with has all the business roles and all the Fiori tiles assigned to it, so it's a huge user here. And here you can see all the different areas, like for instance I select "Master Data", 00:04:45 which are preconfigured and which you can call from here right away. So what clients are included with this data for SAP Best Practices? 00:05:03 The appliance contains multiple clients. Client 000 is the default client delivered with all S/4HANA systems. 6

7 00:05:12 In addition, the following clients have been set up specifically for the appliance. For most customers, client 100, which we just saw, will be the starting point when they use the appliance. 00:05:25 It is typically used at an early stage, normally to try the demo system or a trial system. Client 200 contains the Best Practices content and technical preparation but the content is not yet activated. 00:05:41 Client 300 shows the original activated state of SAP Best Practices without any adaptations. Client 400 is only used indirectly to support SAP Best Practices that include Integrated Business Planning. 00:05:59 And client 500 contains a full copy of client 000, customizing with Best Practices on top of it. We created this client based on the project feedback in order to allow the Fit2Standard workshops to run, 00:06:14 not only on SAP Best Practices configuration alone, but in combination with the full client 000 customizing. In our use case, Ttrade decides to use client 300 as a starting point and to personalize the SAP Best Practices to their needs, 00:06:32 adjusting the organization structure, creating sample master data, and adjusting the predelivered chart of account. Let s have a closer look at the software stack included in the appliance. 00:06:47 The appliance consists of three components, and the download two components, that are automatically coupled together when a customer or partner creates an instance. 00:07:00 The ABAP server contains the ABAP coding based on the SAP HANA database and the SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP. The SAP Best Practices for SAP S/4HANA are contained in this server. 00:07:14 A SAP NetWeaver Java application server with Adobe Document Services is pre-installed. This is needed for some pre-delivered interactive forms and printing. 00:07:25 For the Cloud Appliance Library version only: a Windows-based remote desktop for easy access without having to install local desktop tools. 00:07:36 This server is not contained in the download delivery since the assumption is that a customer or partner will use this on a local client anyway. Now that the sandbox system is ready, Ttrade is going to prepare the development, quality assurance, and production system. 00:08:02 They have two options to go ahead here. The first one is to get started with an SAP S/4HANA hardware appliance or, second, using the tailored data center integration. 00:08:15 The certified SAP HANA hardware appliance fulfills a set of criteria, such as being based on the same architecture, memory chips have to be homogeneous, they have the same disk layout, comparable components are used, and many more. 00:08:35 Use the certified SAP S/4HANA directory, linked on this slide here, to browse for certified SAP S/4HANA appliances. Besides this, customers can make use of the tailored data center integration, 00:08:50 which describes a program that allows SAP S/4HANA customers to leverage existing hardware or infrastructure components for their SAP S/4HANA environment. 00:09:03 Typically, a HANA appliance comes with all necessary components pre-configured and is provided by certified HANA hardware partners. TDI targets the usage of certain hardware and infrastructure components already existing in a customer landscape 00:09:20 instead of the corresponding components delivered with a HANA appliance. Use the link in this presentation to retrieve more information on TDI. 00:09:30 Ttrade decides to start with a completely new, certified SAP HANA appliance as they found out they have no free hardware to hand which then can be leveraged in TDI. 00:09:45 But before ordering the hardware, they have to determine the right sizing. An elementary step in the whole preparation is adequate system sizing to proactively avoid performance problems 00:10:02 and verify the hardware resources to be selected. Ttrade is using SAP's recommended tool for this task, the Quick Sizer that can be found on the Service Marketplace 7

And the Quick Sizer is a joint development between SAP and its hardware partners to support system sizing. 00:10:25 With Quick Sizer you can translate business requirements into technical requirements. Simply fill out the online questionnaire, which is an up-to-date survey that is based on business- oriented figures. 00:10:37 The result you obtain can help you select an economically balanced system that matches your company's business goals. Quick Sizer calculates CPU, disk, memory, and I/O resource categories 00:10:52 based on throughput numbers and the number of users working with the different SAP solutions in a hardware and database-independent format. Okay. 00:11:05 Next we will take a closer look at the landscape deployment recommendations for the Fiori front- end server. The general recommendation is to deploy the Fiori apps and the UI content on separate systems. 00:11:20 For Ttrade, that means that there is one Fiori front-end server corresponding to each of the back-end systems and clients to be installed. Advantages of this setup are that the Fiori UI software update cycles are decoupled from the back-end system, 00:11:38 scaling up is manageable independently of the back-end system, input validation functions and business logic are separated on two different systems, which is a security requirement, 00:11:52 and there is an option to include further SAP S/4HANA and non-s/4 back-end systems. The Fiori front-end server runs on any SAP database. 00:12:05 In the sandbox system based on the appliance, the Fiori front-end server is embedded. Please study the landscape deployment recommendations for SAP Fiori front-end server at the link provided here for more information. 00:12:28 The component architecture consists of three building blocks: The SAP Web Dispatcher that serves as a reverse proxy required for the SAP S/4HANA analytical Fiori apps. 00:12:41 Second, the Fiori front-end server on any SAP database containing the Fiori apps, including the Fiori launchpad content, the central UI technology with the UI5 framework as well as the Fiori launchpad, 00:12:56 and the SAP Gateway content and server. And third, the back-end system with SAP S/4HANA Enterprise S/4 core on NetWeaver 00:13:06 plus required add-ons and industry solutions. Let us have a look at what tools to use to identify and install the particular software stack required for SAP S/4HANA and front end. 00:13:24 The installation process is a simple 2-step approach: planning and downloading the required software components with the new maintenance planner, 00:13:35 and second, installing the software components with SAP software provisioning manager. Maintenance planner is, as I said, a new cloud- based SAP tool that is combining the tools maintenance optimizer, 00:13:49 landscape planner, and system editor. You can plan a new SAP S/4HANA system, select systems and products to install, 00:13:58 select the detailed software stack level, and download the installation files. Moreover, it simplifies the maintenance process, definition of product maintenance dependencies, 00:14:09 and installation of additional software components, for example add-ons. The customer system landscape is uploaded from LMDB in SAP Solution Manager to the user profile in SAP Service Marketplace, 00:14:23 initial and then daily synchronization. For the actual installation, Ttrade uses SAP s software provisioning manager 00:14:31 the SAP installation program that is fed by the maintenance planner. Here, all components can be installed at once. 00:14:40 Standards such as parameters and passwords are to be defined during the installation process. At the end of the day, Ttrade installed the system landscape accordingly. 00:14:55 So let's have a look at the maintenance planner. So this is the look and feel of the maintenance planner. 8

9 00:15:06 So it's a Web page. And now we select a plan here for SAP S/4HANA. 00:15:13 So this is used for new installation, covered in this week, and also for conversion, covered next week. We're going to plan a new system, install a new SAP S/4HANA system. 00:15:27 We enter a new system ID... The target version, :15:38 And now we select an additional front-end server as recommended before. Also with Ttrade's user ID front-end Ttrade (FTD). 00:15:52 We select a target version, 1610 again. And in the next step, we now select the OS/DB combination. 00:16:12 Let's, for example, choose "Windows on x64 64bit". Confirm the selection... 00:16:21 Here we can again select stack-dependent files if necessary. Just choose "Next". 00:16:29 And here we are now getting the concrete stack for initial implementation, consisting of the installation tools. And if we download that PDF document here and open it, then we get in addition 00:16:44 a link to the Service Marketplace that contains all the initial ABAP-based load components here. So you can download these in addition and install them with software provisioning manager. 00:17:00 And having done this, when you're doing the next upgrade with SAP maintenance planner, you automatically get the upgrades stacked in the next cycle. 00:17:11 So let's go back to the presentation... Next, Ttrade is going to prepare new clients in the development, quality assurance, and production system 00:17:26 here one client in each system. With SAP S/4HANA, these clients can be set up as SAP Best Practices clients 00:17:35 as a copy from client 000 using a specific client copy profile, such as SAP_CUST. But what is new and what is different here? 00:17:46 Classic client 000 customizing contains the collected implementation experience of SAP. So far, it was SAP s recommendation to copy most of this content from client 000 to the projectspecific new client. 00:18:02 With SAP Best Practices content for SAP S/4HANA, we ve drastically reduced the amount of configuration tables needed for client 000 from around 14,000 down to :18:16 Every Best Practices content package contains only the configuration content that is needed in addition to these 850 base tables to implement its business functionality. 00:18:30 Best Practices clients and classic clients can be used in the same system without negatively influencing each other. And the procedure to create a Best Practices client is described in the admin guide for SAP S/4HANA 00:18:43 available at the help portal "help.sap.com". And I'm happy to provide you with some information about it and some demos about the existing solution. 00:00:30 Well, today's world is actually of course dominated in the ERP side from our new developments in SAP S/4HANA. SAP S/4HANA provides us with new data models, with new capabilities from technology, 00:00:44 saying our new SAP HANA database that we have. So it was time to think about also changing the processes that we are seeing in our Business Suite solution. 00:00:55 One of the processes that often gets excluded from all these discussions is analytics. But analytics is of course very important, especially when you have all of those capabilities 00:01:05 that we have with the HANA engine, for instance, in our SAP S/4HANA system. Now if you have a look at the graph that you see on this slide, 00:01:14 we have asked a few even c-level executives what their expectations are about analytics in the area of the Business Suite. And the result was pretty stunning. 00:01:25 So it was not necessarily only the case that we saw that the achievement rates for specific things like real-time insights or advanced analytics, 00:01:34 were of course far-out comparison to the establishment. So we did not have a lot of solutions that provided those capabilities. 00:01:42 But the most important part that we saw was that contextualized information was what they were searching for, and that we did not provide. 00:01:51 One very good example for that is that we are currently dealing with an SAP BW for the Business Suite as an OLAP reporting engine. So we are extracting the values out of our ERP system and bringing them over into the BW system 00:02:06 in order to provide the reports over there, or in particular, specific business intelligence types of reporting. Now contextualized information is of course needed when it comes to processes that are integrated. 00:02:21 Let me come up with an example. If we start a transaction, like if you are a purchasing manager and you want to enter a material order, 00:02:28 the next thing is: What do you need in order to complete the transaction? It is to have a look at other graphs or diagrams, dashboards, or even detailed information lists 00:02:40 that provide you with the right information that you would need in order to complete the transaction. For instance, you want to check your budget, or you want to see how your suppliers are doing. 00:02:49 So if you find out about that, it's much easier to get to the completion of the transaction. So I guess you have started with a material number that you want to order, 00:02:59 you can then of course enter the right supplier that fits to it. And the best, of course, if you have all of that on one screen and don't have to jump back and forth between systems and screens. 00:03:10 So, if we have the information that actually fits 100% to the already made entries, all of that on one screen, that would be our idea of embedded analytics. 00:03:21 So it's not necessarily only having analytical functionality technically embedded in our Business Suite. It is, in particular here, possible to have analytics that fit 100% to your transaction inside of the transaction. 00:03:36 So that was the goal, that was the idea, how we wanted to proceed in our SAP S/4HANA implementation. Now if you go to the overview of our technology that we are using for that, 00:03:50 we of course can deal with SAP HANA, we can deal with SAP S/4HANA, with SAP Fiori.
