38 Our Ref: MAR Your Ref: 12 February 2012 Erica Wellings Dear Erica FOREST SCHOOLS Following on from the recent telephone discussions I have had with yourself I write to confirm the outline costs for developing a Web based solution for Forest Schools. Based upon our discussions I have broken the costings down into four distinct areas:- 1. Design and Layout. The site will need to be designed from scratch. In order to accomplish this a design brief will need to be agreed (1 day), Photoshop mock ups will need to be produced and amended in line with client feedback (5 days), the template will need to be produced to skin the site (4 days) giving a total of 10 days for this phase. 2. Website functionality. This can, in the main, be accomplished by using open source product such as DNN and customising to the requirements of the client. The site will require a public area to which all have access. This will be fully content managed by the client who will have the ability to generate and delete pages as they require. This area will provided information, news, events, details on local trained leaders etc. In addition there will be a private area of the site protected by user name and password which will be available to those such as trained leaders who will be able to access this area in order to update their membership record access specific information etc. This area will hold the membership database. In addition there will be a shop which allow on line purchases as well as the ability to pay membership fees. 39 3. Search Facility. Browsers to will need to be able to search, vis postcode, to find contact details of local leaders. In order to do this a subscription to the post code database will be required (approx 500) and 2 days of development time to integrate this functionality into the site and the membership data base. 4. Ongoing Support and Hosting Annual hosting for the system will be in the region of 595 ex vat and annual software support will be in the region of 1500 ex vat. In summation I would estimate that one off Design and Development cost would be approximately 20 days at a cost of ex vat and on- going costs would be approximately 2100 ex vat per annum.
