Using a modular architecture, single-threaded processing and an asynchronous event loop, the Nginx Web server supports significantly higher scalability than traditional Web servers, such as Apache httpd and Microsoft IIS. Because of its remarkable speed and scalability, Nginx has become the world's most popular Web server for high-traffic websites. According to w3techs.com, Nginx is the second most popular Web server overall, and the first in the top 10,000 websites. Architects and developers designing and implementing high-performance websites will find Nginx to be proven solutions. In addition, infrastructure application teams looking for a low-cost, per-application, scale-out ADC alternative should look at Nginx.
