2 LEMA - Scope To develop a new, end-to-end licensing, enforcement, monitoring and reporting application (LEMA). To employ contemporary ICT and GIS technologies to enhance the work procedures of Agency staff through the elimination of duplication, reduction of reliance on manual procedures and promotion of strategic practices.

12 PRTR Application and Integration with IED Reporting Data received in xml format from operators Current stand-alone PRTR VB.NET windows application developed in-house Automated data extract from PRTR application into XML format as per required schema Plan to redevelop/integrate PRTR application within Microsoft CRM LEMA architecture to take advantage of common data between IED/PRTR

Activities are not fully aligned at present Reporting frequencies are different Reduces data management efforts for shared data fields Limited benefits in terms of data quality Data types are different (structured and unstructured) Benefits for operators in using a single system for data reporting

15 IED Permit Amendments: Irish EPA Case Study 700+ Permits under National Legislation IPPC Installations, Waste Facilities and other Industrial activities Two main databases aligned with National Legislation Difficult to interrogate for reporting purposes IED used as opportunity to update to a single data set for 2012/795/EU reporting, particularly Annex II module 2 for Sept 2017

Standardisation of definitions/thresholds? Expansion to include additional reporting obligations, e.g., Large Combustion Plants, Waste Incineration Plants, Solvents?
