1 SECTION DOORS, WINDOWS, AND GLAZING DOORS, WINDOWS, AND GLAZING DIVISION 8 DOORS AND WINDOWS HOLLOW METAL DOORS AND FRAMES 01.1 Acceptable Manufacturers: Subject to compliance with the following specifications provide hollow metal from only one of the following: A. Ceco Door Products B. Steelcraft Manufacturing Co. C. (C) Curries Co Material Insulated Exterior Doors: Face sheets are to be made of commercial quality 16 gage hot dipped zinc coated steel that complies with ASTM A525 A60. Vertical edges shall join the face sheets by a continuous weld extending the full height of the door. Welds are to be ground, filled and dressed smooth to make them invisible and provide a smooth flush surface. Hinge reinforcements shall be not less than 7 gage (3/16) plate 1-1/4" x 9" height to receive heavy weight (.180) hinges. Reinforce tops and bottoms of all doors with a continuous steel channel not less than 16 gage, extending the full width of the door and welded to the face sheet. Doors with an inverted top channel shall have a steel closure channel welded in place so the channel is flush with the top of the face sheets of the door. Plastic fillers are not acceptable. Door cores shall have 22 gage vertical steel stiffeners spanning the full thickness of the interior space between door faces. Stiffeners shall be spaced not more than 5" on centers. Spaces between stiffeners shall be filled with fiberglass insulation (minimum density 0.8#/cubic ft.) Material - Interior Doors: Face sheets are to be made of commercial quality 18 gage cold rolled steel conforming to ASTM A366 or 620.Vertical edges shall be mechanically interlocked with a hairline edge seam. Hinge reinforcements shall be not less than 7 gage (3/16") plate 1-1/4" x 9" height to receive standard weight (.134) hinges. Reinforce tops and bottoms of all doors with a continuous steel channel not less than 16 gage, extending the full width of the door and welded to the face sheet. Top and bottom channels shall be flush with top and bottom of door. Door cores shall be a one-piece resin-impregnated honeycomb securely bonded to both face sheets Material - Exterior Frames: Shall be 14 gage hot dipped zinc coated steel that complies with ASTM A526 A60.All frames are to be assembled so that the face miter seam is "closed and tight". Weld the face seam and the full web of the frame corner or intersection. Grind and dress the weld area smooth. Apply a zinc rich primer over the grinding area, and finish with matching prime paint. Run a continuous fine bead of white silicone caulk around frame after installation. 8-1

2 SECTION DOORS, WINDOWS, AND GLAZING 01.5 Material - Interior Frames: Shall be 16 gage that complies with ASTM A366 or A569. All frames shall be knock- down type (KD) or drywall type (DW).Furnish cased openings frames where indicated on the Drawings. Run a continuous fine bead of white silicone caulk around frame after installation. Labeled Doors and Frames: Construct and install doors and frames to comply with current issue of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standard Number 80, as herein specified. Labeled doors and frames shall be provided for those openings requiring fire protection ratings as determined and scheduled. Doors and/or frames for labeled openings shall bear either a stamped or applied label from Warnock Hersey of Underwriters Laboratory. Labeled doors and frames shall comply with procedures of labeling agencies and codes of authority having jurisdiction Prime Finish: Doors and frames are to be thoroughly cleaned and chemically treated to insure maximum finish paint adhesion. All surfaces of the door and frame exposed to view shall receive a factory applied coat of rust inhibiting primer. The finish shall meet the requirements for acceptance stated in ANSI A224.1 "Test Procedure and Acceptance Criteria for Prime Painted Steel Surfaces". The prime finish is not intended to be the final layer of protection from the elements. Field painting per section ROLL-UP DOOR 02.1 Insulated Roll-up door, furnished and installed by manufacturer. Series 625 Stormtite insulated heavy-duty rolling service door, frame only painted white, with chain hoist operation standard. Options: Weatherseal on interior side guide, lintel seal, galvanized steel bottom bar with pin-lock provided on curtain 36 AFF. Padlock and Keys provided by Wawa. Finish #17 Clear Anodized. Verify with Drawings. B. Glazing 03.3 Doors 1. Exterior Clear-1" clear insulated low-e tempered units (1/4" tempered clear glass, 1/2" air space, 1/4" clear tempered low-e on surface #3). 2. Exterior Reflective 1 reflective insulated tempered units (1/4 tempered clear glass outside, 1/2 air space, ¼ Pacifica glass w/solarcool2 on surface #3.Manufacturer: PPG. 3. Interior and Door Lites -1/4" clear tempered safety glazing. 4. Exterior Spandrel Units - 1" Lava (1/4" tempered Lava spandrel, 1/2" Styrofoam insulation, 1/4" tempered Lava spandrel).manufacturer: Oldcastle Glass. 5. Windows on sides of building 1 Insulated tempered tinted low-e glass (1/4 Solargray tempered, ½ anodized spacer, ¼ tempered clear inside.) 6. Window Tint 3M Night Vision 15 (15% LVT) on all clerestory glass. A. Remodels: Kawneer '500' Wide Stile Swing Door with CO-(Pull and CPIl Pull Handle, and 10" height bottom rails, #628 finish. Top and bottom offset pivots hinges. LCN 4041 surface mounted closers with drop plate, no hold open, ADA approved. Adams Rite MS1850 maximum security deadlock cylinder on exterior doors. Provide thumb turn lock on interior side of all Vestibule doors. Sealair Bulb Weather-stripping required. Option stores without Vestibule require 1 tempered insulated low E glazing. Top and bottom offset pivots hinges. LCN 4041 surface mounted closers with drop plate, no hold open, ADA approved. Adams Rite MS1850 maximum security deadlock cylinder on exterior doors. 5 Hardware schedules are to be submitted in the format provided by the Door & Hardware Institute General Provide aluminum handicap accessible thresholds for all exterior doors, except exterior Cold Delivery, Meter Room and Exterior Storage (including Kawneer doors) and weather-strip the hollow metal door at the Work Room exit way when required. Add door stops at exterior Vestibule doors, only when doors open against storefront. Hardware to conform to all state and local handicap code specifications. Interior hinged door shall have a maximum opening force of five (5) pounds. Fire doors and exterior hinged doors shall have a minimum opening force allowable by fire and panic. Hardware for Kawneer or YKK doors shall be supplied by the manufacturer (offset pivots and/or center pivots). All doors required to be accessible will not require light grasping, tight pinching, or twisting of the wrist to operate All hardware furnished by Wawa. The intent of this specification is to be used as a guideline estimating and establishing a standard of quality. For out swinging exterior doors, furnish N.R.P. (non-removable pin) hinges Closers with "CUSH" type arms shall have back check set to slow the door opening cycle from 75 degrees to full open/stop position. Closers on exterior doors shall be installed with thru-bolts Thresholds and weather-stripping: Neatly cope threshold around frame and caulk. All exterior doors shall be furnished with weather-stripping type NGP120NA. 8-4

6 01.8 Keying: All locks and cylinders for each store shall be keyed alike including cylinders for aluminum entrance doors. The only exception is the lockset for the Cold Delivery Door which is to be keyed separately to Wawa's delivery key.
