6 MEETING ROOM 15 Persons 30 Persons Space Allocation for the Function: Provisions should be made for audio-visual presentations and small group discussions. Allow 20 SF per occupant. Furniture and Equipment (to be provided by the Owner): A modular table arrangement is suggested that can function as a central table for a large group or be divided into smaller study tables. Conference chairs, preferably with arms are suggested. Locked storage is required for projection or audiovisual equipment. Adjacency Relationships: The Meeting Room should be directly accessible to the Activity Room or created using foldable partitions in the Activity Room. Spatial Definition and Openness: Minimum ceiling height is 9-0. It is desirable the Meeting Roof have an exterior view. Sound Control: Sound integrity is required from adjacent areas. Finish Materials: Painted drywall, carpet, and acoustic tile ceilings Signage: None is required. Storage: Use furniture and equipment to provide storage. Plumbing: None is required. Electrical: Low-level illuminations of 10 fc are required for media presentations, and 50fc for all other activities. Provide outlets per NFPA 70 National Electric Code.

8 SERVICE LIFE AND REPLACEMENT CYCLES a. DEFINITIONS a. Service Life. The average time during which a particular system or component remains in it original service application and when it should be replaced. Replacement may occur for any reason, including, but not limited to failure, general obsolescence, reduced reliability, excessive maintenance cost, and changed system requirements due to such influences as changed functional programs or energy prices. b. Critical Component. Major system without which the facility could not provide it s primary function c. Major Component. Building System that is 10% or more of the cost of the facility. b. SERVICE LIFE: Design the structure and exterior skin, respectively, to support specific loads and to provide a weather tight enclosure so that the critical building systems inside the building have a finite service life. 9 A 10 FOUNDATIONS Slab on Grade 1. Reinforced slab-on-grade, design in conformance with Building Code of NYS. Provide minimum of 3500 psi concrete with steel reinforcement, and stem walls to support exterior enclosure. 2. Provide joints in all concrete slabs on grade. a. Locate construction joints under partitions or on column lines. b. Provide contraction joints on all column lines and at 20-0 maximum spacing each way in between B 10 SUPERSTRUCTURE Pre-Engineered Steel Structure 1. All structural steel sections and welded plate members shall be designed in accordance with the latest edition of MBMA and the AISC, "Specifications for Design, Fabrication and Erection of Structural Steel for Buildings." 2. All light gauge cold formed structural members and exterior covering shall be designed in accordance with the latest addition of AISC, "Specification for the Design of Cold-Formed Steel Structural Members." Design load requirements shall be as determined by local building codes, and as per Manufacturers recommended design referencing the "Low Rise Systems Manual" of the Metal Building Manufactures Association, the U.B.C. and the Building Code of NYS. 3. The basic design loads include roof snow loads, wind loads, dead and seismic loads. Design metal buildings to resist the dead load, the live load, and the combination of these loads as set forth in Metal Building Manufacturers Association (MBMA) "Recommended Design Practices Manual". 4. Metal Building components shall be capable of supporting design loads without permanent deformation, loss of watertightness, or disengagement of any part of installation.

10 D 30 HEATING VENTILATION AIR CONDITIONING General: 1. Provide equipment and design a system that conforms to the following standards a. Building Code of NYS, Mechanical Code of NYS, and all local ordinances. b. ARI Unitary Air-Conditioning Equipment. c. ARI Sound Rating of Outdoor Unitary Equipment. d. ARI 410 Standard for Forced Circulation Air Cooling and Air-Heating Coils e. NFPA 70 - National Electrical Code f. NFPA 90A - Installation of Air Conditioning and Ventilation Systems. g. SMACNA HVAC Duct Construction Standard. 2. Provide outdoor-mounted unit suitable for on-the-ground or rooftop installation. Provide forced air system with ducted returns, based on requirements of the Mechanical Code of NYS and the Building Code of NYS. D50 ELECTRICAL General: 1. Design and provide installation in accordance with the National Electrical Code, state code, and local ordinances. Electrical Service and Distribution: 1. Provide full size separate neutrals for all branch circuits. 2. Install full size ground wire in all electrical installations. Do not depend on the conduit for grounding. 3. Provide minimum conduit size of 1/2 inch from electrical panels to boxes and between boxes. Lighting and Branch Wiring 1. Branch circuits shall be designed so that the maximum voltage drop will be 5 per cent for power circuits and 4 percent for lighting and combination lighting and power circuits. 2. All wire shall be copper and stranded including all branch circuit wiring. 3. The loading of 20 amp branch circuits shall not exceed 80 percent. 4. Convenience outlets shall be considered as a minimum load of 250 watts per duplex outlet.
