General: All Work indicated is new unless identified by the following symbols or abbreviations: 1. * Indicates existing materials to remain. Extent of new Work to patch and match existing materials is indicated on Drawings or in Finish Schedule Notes. 2. EX Indicates existing material to remain with no additional Work required. 3. N.I.C. Indicates Work Not In this Contract. 4. Where wall painting is scheduled, paint all new doors, windows, moldings and door frames, etc., within that room, except do not paint prefinished items. 5. Finish paint interior and exterior side of all doors and frames. 6. All freestanding columns within a room are to receive the same finish as indicated for walls, unless noted otherwise. 7. Paint all metal diffusers, metal trim of lighting fixtures and speakers in ceiling to match color and finish of ceiling; sprinkler heads to be custom factory color to match color of ceiling at each location. 8. Fire extinguisher cabinets to be painted to match adjacent wall surface. 9. Where sealing of concrete floors is indicated, prepare floor by knocking down and removing fibers on surface of concrete floor for a smooth surface finish. 10.
