9 I like coming up with really good design and seeing it come to life NICKY Architectural Technology Graduate Nicky landed her job at Calcott Architecture and Landscape Design before completing her studies at WelTec. As an architectural technician, Nicky enjoys the variety of work in her role. From getting out and meeting clients, to preparing concept designs and creating working drawings. Nicky had been a stay-at-home mum for around 10 years and previously worked in administration. I wanted to be a lot more creative and I d been very involved in the design of our own house, so architectural technology ticked all the boxes.

11 At WelTec, I m learning new skills that help in my job SAM Construction Management student Aspiring project manager Sam balances work with study and thinks it s one of the best ways to learn. The 24-year-old went straight from Wellington College to work for Fletcher Construction. He s now a qualified carpenter, working as a project manager s 2IC. Through the course I ve learned about contracts and legal requirements, skills that are new to me and important to project management. Sam works full-time Monday to Friday, taking time out for class, two afternoons per week.
