4 The installation is located in the capital city of Warsaw, which together with 57 bordering municipalities form a central waste management region. Regional Waste Management Plan for Mazovia for Waste Management Plan for Mazowieckie Voivodeship 2022 with attachments The Investment Plan for Mazowieckie Voivodeship, an attachment to the Waste Management Plan for Mazowieckie Voivodeship 2022, indicates waste management investments planned for construction and modernisation. 5 5 Brussels, June 29th, 2017

6 The development and modernisation of Municipal Waste Treatment Facility is realized by: Warsaw Waste Management Company (Miejskie Przedsiębiorstwo Oczyszczania w m st. Warszawie Sp. z o.o.) Realization of the project approved for financing under EFSI is carried out on the basis of entrustment agreement between Capital City of Warsaw and Warsaw Waste Management Company. 6 6 Brussels, June 29th, 2017

7 Warsaw Waste Management Company applied for the project s financing under the European Fund for Strategic Investments by receiving financing in European Investment Bank (EIB). Necessary documents were prepared and delivered (i.a. Feasibility Study and financial model). On September 27th, 2016, the Company was informed that on September 23rd, 2016 the project was approved by EIB under the EFSI. 7 7 Brussels, June 29th, 2017

11 The project subjected to the prescribed environmental impact assessment procedure as set out in EIA Directive. The environmental influence assessment including public consultations was carried out and approved by the competent authority in The competent authority concluded that project s remaining impact on the natural environment will not be significant, under condition of observance of proposed remedial measures. 13 Development and modernisation of thermal waste processing installation in Warsaw will provide region s self-sufficiency in terms of waste management and will support waste management of unrecyclable waste or recycling of which is uneconomical or non-ecological. According to plans, the installation will process mixed municipal waste as well as waste produced during the sorting process or mechanical and biological processing of municipal waste Brussels, June 29th, 2017

14 Realization of incinerator development will allow to decrease the amount of waste sent to landfills and will contribute to realization of waste hierarchy. The investment will decrease the amount of municipal waste (including biodegradable waste) sent to landfills by 80%.
