About Us Energy & Environment, LLC Started 12 years ago Decades of experience in energy efficiency We create jobs, lower energy use, reduce coal pollution and greenhouse gases
Energy Efficiency Overview
U.S. Energy Consumption
Electrical Use by Sector
Commercial Energy Usage
Energy Efficiency Essentials A Lighting Retrofit is the Biggest Bang for Your Buck Lighting (Interior & Exterior) Domestic Water (Cold) Consumption (Bathroom, Sinks/Toilets) Hot Water (Tanks & Boilers) Systems (Kitchens, Industrial Processes) Building Envelope ( Skin, Roof, Windows, Insulation) Mechanical Systems & Controls (Conventional or Geothermal) Appliances (Copiers, Refrigerators, Computers) Window Film (Solar Gain) Waste Heat Recovery
Energy Efficient Design Lighting Retrofit Value Reduce operating costs Reduce HVAC load Reduce maintenance Reduce Carbon Footprint
Interior Lighting Fluorescent Retrofit Dim, Photocontrol, Delamp Reflectorize Replace T12 lamps with T-8s or LEDs Add Occupancy Sensors Replace Magnetic Ballasts with Electronic
Lighting Retrofit Examples Bibb County Court House in Macon, GA 210,000 sq. ft. Courthouse Complex Cost savings--$30,000 in five months Energy usage decreased by over 20% 1.4 year Return On Investment
Dollars kwh Used Lighting Retrofit Examples Bibb County Court House--Test Results $350,000 Annual Cost 4,000,000 Annual Energy Use $300,000 $250,000 $200,000 $150,000 $100,000 $50, ,500,000 3,000,000 2,500,000 2,000,000 1,500,000 1,000, , $

Interior/Exterior Lighting Replace old HID technology & curtail exterior lighting (less light pollution, less wasted energy) Options: LED & Induction Reduce Wattage of Fixtures Dim and Photocontrol Using Wireless Technology

Lighting Retrofit Examples Use Less Power, Shed More Light
Lighting Retrofit Examples Atlantic Engineered Products, Brunswick, GA 400 Watt Metal Halide (Highbay fixtures) Replaced with T-8 Highbays Before After 465 Watts vs. 165 Watts 64% Reduction in Lighting Energy
Lighting Retrofit Examples Atlantic Engineered Products--Metered Results before after

Georgia Power Ally Program Commercial Facilities Meeting the Program Criteria May be eligible for federal or state tax incentives. Incentive program provides the following incentives to participating facilities: Commercial facility Taxable--$0.05/kWh$5,000 Tax exempt--0.05/kwh$10,000 Incentives consist of a one-time payment based on first year energy savings. Savings baselines will be based on: Current state and local code requirements Current industry practices for replacement and new construction measures. *Georgia Power will reserve the right to exercise discretion and adjust baselines for retrofit projects affecting measures significantly before the end of their useful life or for measures where codes and/or current industry practices are not applicable.
Georgia Power Ally Program Existing Building Custom Lighting Measure 1: Fluorescent Lighting fixtures. Fixture must be listed on Consortium for Energy Efficiency website This site covers only 4' T8 lamps and ballasts. 17w, 2' T8 lamps must have a minimum efficacy of 75 mean lumens/watt. 32w, U-bend T8 lamps must have minimum efficacy of 79 mean lumens/watt. T5 lamps are also eligible under this measure. Measure 2: High Bay Lighting. All high bay lighting must be pulse start HID technology or high efficient fluorescent. Measure 3: Other lighting. This consists of lighting fixtures not included in Measure 1 or Measure 2. Common to this category is LED lighting, which must meet ENERGY STAR standards, Other lighting sources and fixtures may qualify but will need to be pre-approved.
Together We Make a Difference with Energy Efficient Lighting
