Rebates Iowa residential By changing out light bulbs, installing a programmable thermostat and adding insulation, you can save a surprising amount on your energy bills. Check out our rebate and conservation programs to help you start saving today. How to qualify and apply for rebates Alliant Energy s rebate program includes incentives that cover a portion of the cost of energy-efficient equipment and materials. Keep these things in mind when making an investment in your home comfort. Rebates are paid to Alliant Energy s Iowa residential customers. Apply for a rebate after the purchase and installation of your eligible item(s). Send in the appropriate rebate claim form with a copy of your sales receipt or itemized invoice. Some rebates require additional documentation such as an installation report or efficiency certificate. These additional requirements are noted on each rebate claim form. Watch the mail for your rebate Once you ve submitted your claim form with the proper documentation, your rebate should arrive in six to eight weeks. Your rebate will be pre-loaded onto a Visa Prepaid Card.* It may be used wherever Visa cards are accepted. You may select Credit or Debit when making purchases. If you select credit, you will be prompted for your signature. If you select debit, you will be prompted to enter the PIN you obtained during activation. The debit cash back option is not available with this card. The card is good for one year per the Good Thru date listed on the front of the card. You cannot use your card to pay your Alliant Energy bill unless you use Western Union Speedpay. Rebate claim forms for equipment or services that are usually completed by a dealer, contractor or installer can be obtained from that place of business. All rebate forms (with the exception of insulation, which is provided during a Home Energy Assessment) are available online at alliantenergy.com/rebates. You can have forms mailed to you by calling our Energy Efficiency Hotline at ALLIANT ( ) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. 3 4 5 FREE assessment Home Energy Assessment Kick-start your monthly energy savings with a Home Energy Assessment. It s worth $400, but free to eligible Alliant Energy customers. With the Home Energy Assessment, an energy expert will come to your home and inspect: Building construction and tightness Heating and cooling systems Insulation levels Kitchen and laundry appliances Lighting Water heating equipment Windows and doors The energy expert will also conduct two critical efficiency and safety checks: 1. Combustion safety 2. Carbon monoxide test If needed, the energy expert may install the following energy-saving items on the spot for free: Up to nine ENERGY STAR qualified LEDs Two high-efficiency shower heads Three high-efficiency faucet aerators Six feet of hot water pipe insulation One smart power strip Together, these items represent a $200 value for free Upgrade your assessment for $100 and receive a comprehensive assessment that includes a blower door test, pressurized duct leakage test and thermal imaging to further pinpoint energy wasters. A learning thermostat uses multiple pieces of information to help you save energy. It will use sensors to determine when you are home. It will also recognize patterns of when you adjust your thermostat. A learning thermostat will use all of this information to control the temperature in your home for you. These programs not only make energy efficiency more affordable, they also make it easier to fit in to your already busy life. After all, saving energy saves more than money; it increases your home comfort and makes your home a more pleasant place to be. Plus, being energy efficient helps conserve limited natural resources, which, in turn, protects the environment and helps to ensure a robust energy supply for kids and future generations. Appliance Recycling Alliant Energy will send a recycling contractor to pick up and dispose of your old working* appliance safely and according to environmental guidelines. Plus, you get a rebate check on the spot in return. Working* freezers and refrigerators...$50 10 cubic ft. or larger, no commercial sizes Working* room air conditioners...$25 *Motor must run and unit must cool. Appliance Cycling Appliance Cycling is a voluntary program in which Alliant Energy can cycle off your air conditioner temporarily when electricity demand is high. In return, you receive an $8 credit on your monthly electric bill, June through September. If you have an electric water heater and also allow Alliant Energy to cycle it off during peak periods, you will receive an additional $2 credit on your monthly electric bill, June through September. Unlike air conditioners, water heaters are turned off for the entire duration of the event. Before making your purchase, call ALLIANT to confirm that your selected equipment qualifies. The minimum loan amount is $1,500. The maximum amount that you can borrow is $25,000. Financing is available for qualifying equipment and contract labor. Do-it-yourself labor expenses do not qualify for financing. Loans are available to Alliant Energy residential and business customers, including sole proprietors. General partnership business are not eligible. Interest rate and terms The longer the loan term, the higher the interest rate. Terms range from 0-60 months with the corresponding fixed APR between 0% - 6.9% The term and interest rate are determined upon origination of the loan. The term and rate are not adjustable following closing. How to qualify and apply for financing: Interest rate Loan term 0% 12 months 4.9% 36 months 6.9% 60 months 3. Rebate amount will not exceed 50% of equipment purchase price, excluding insulation and sealing. 4. Equipment must be new and installed on the premises and must not be purchased for resale. Refurbished equipment is not eligible. Some exceptions may apply. 5. Alliant Energy reserves the right to inspect and verify the installation. 6. Alliant Energy reserves the right to meter the specified equipment or process, at no cost to the customer, to determine the actual energy saved for up to 18 months after installation. 7. Rebates apply to new and replacement installations of qualified equipment. In replacement situations, the efficiency of the equipment installed must be higher than that of the equipment removed. 8. Customers are responsible for ensuring the equipment installed for this program meets all applicable codes, standards and regulatory requirements. 9. Alliant Energy does not guarantee that installation of high-efficiency equipment will result in reduced usage or demand, or in cost savings. 10. Alliant Energy makes no warranties, expressed or implied, with respect to any equipment purchased and/or installed including, but not limited to, any warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. How to apply and qualify for rebates Customers are encouraged to fill out and return the rebate form(s) and a copy of your sales receipt or itemized invoice as soon as possible for your selected product or service. Failure to do so could result in a delay processing your claim. Please note that some products and services may require additional documentation (like a UPC code or ENERGY STAR logo from a product box). These additional requirements are noted on each rebate claim form. You must own the property on which the equipment and/or measures are being installed. All equipment financed through this program must use electricity or natural gas provided by Alliant Energy and must meet minimum energy-efficiency standards. Low-Interest Financing cannot be combined with rebates. Complete the Low-Interest Financing form and submit to Alliant Energy to verify that the equipment meets the energy-efficiency standards prior to project start date. The form is available at alliantenergy.com/rebates. If your equipment qualifies, Alliant Energy will forward the information to its financial institution. A representative will contact you within two business days regarding loan approval. If you qualify for the Low-Interest Financing per the financial institution s requirements, there are no fees (processing fees, points, down payments or security liens) to obtain the loan. 11. In no event shall Alliant Energy be liable for any incidental or consequential damages. 12. Alliant Energy does not endorse any particular manufacturer, product or system design in promoting this rebate program. Listing a product does not constitute an endorsement, nor does it imply that unlisted products are defective in any way. 13. Alliant Energy reserves the right to modify or end this rebate program at any time without prior notice. 14. These programs are effective January 1, 2017 through December 31, 2017 and are subject to periodic review by Alliant Energy. 15. Any purchase of energy-efficient equipment must occur between January 1, 2017 and December 31, 2017 to qualify for rebates. Receipts must show retail equipment cost. Installation of energy-efficient equipment must occur between January 1, 2017 and January 31, Alliant Energy reserves the right to contact customers who participate in the rebate programs for surveys to monitor and evaluate program performance. Rebate forms for products and services that are commonly completed by the equipment installer can be obtained directly from the place of business. All rebate forms can be accessed online at alliantenergy.com/rebates. In addition, you can call ALLIANT ( ) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday to have forms mailed to you. Note: Alliant Energy is not involved in the loan approval process. 17. Submit claim forms by January 31, Rebate claim forms postmarked after January 31, 2018 may be subject to 2018 program rebate changes. 19.
