Since, no additional land has been allocated and the vacant land on which the environment Clearance has been granted earlier, land use has already been changed for the same. Hence, there will be no further change in land use. 6

8 1.2 Clearance of existing land, vegetation and buildings? The project is for expansion in environmental clearance of the existing shopping complex. Hence, no clearance of existing vegetation. 1.3 Creation of new land uses? creation of new land uses. It is expansion in Environmental Clearance of the same project. 1.4 Pre-construction investigations e.g. bore houses, soil testing? Yes During Construction Phase: Separate raw material yard will be made within the project site. Cement will be separately stored under cover in bales. Sand will be stacked nearby under tarpaulin cover. Bricks and steel will be laid in open. During Operation Phase: As the project is a Shopping Mall, the raw 7

Yes material storage is being done within the project site and same shall be followed in the expansion phase. During Construction phase: For further construction, Total labourers shall be working during the construction phase. Hence, the solid waste of 9 kg/day shall be generated, and shall be treated in composter already installed and operational in the Mall. Existing toilet shall be used for use of labour at the time of Construction. During Operation Phase: Total solid waste generated during average load (weekday) will be 5250 kg/day and during peak load (weekend) will be 6870 kg/day, which is being properly managed and and being processed at organic waste converter installed in the Mall. The amount of waste water generated from shopping mall during average load (weekday) will be 533 KLD and during peak load (weekend) will be 754 KLD. The waste water generated shall be treated in in-house STP of total 800 KLD capacity Details of Water Management & Solid Waste Management are given in Pre-Feasibility Report. During Construction phase: Mall is operational and staff is engaged for various shops and establishments from nearby areas. The workers during construction phase will be hired from nearby areas and hence no provision of long term housing shall be made. During Operation Phase: As this is a Shopping Mall, staff will be needed for the shops, multiplex and restaurant. Other staff like maintenance staff will be from the nearby areas. Separate 8

The total quantity of water requirement during average load (weekday) will be 1603 KLD, out of which fresh water requirement will be 1097 KLD. However, the total quantity of water requirement during peak load (weekend) will be 1765 KLD, out of which fresh water requirement will be 1115 KLD. There will be no change in water bodies or the land surface effective drainage or run-off. The total quantity of water requirement during average load (weekday) will be 1603 KLD, out of which fresh water requirement will be 1097 KLD. However, the total quantity of water requirement during peak load (weekend) will be 1765 KLD, out of which fresh water requirement will be 1115 KLD. Suitable management practice is being adopted for the same. It is being stored in HDPE drums and kept in covered rooms under lock and key and sold to authorize vendors only. Specialized care is being taken to prevent leaks and spills. License for storing the Petroleum is already taken from Petroleum & Explosive safety Organisation (PESO). High Speed Diesel (low sulphur variety) is being used for D.G. Sets however; the quantity stored is 70 KL. Same will be followed in the expansion phase also. 12

14 3.2 Changes in occurrence of disease or affect disease vectors (e.g. insect or water borne diseases) 3.3 Affect the welfare of people e.g. by changing living conditions? Yes Suitable drainage and waste management measures will be adopted in both the construction and operational phase which will restrict stagnation of water or accumulation of water. This will effectively restrict the reproduction and growth of disease vectors. During Construction phase: Employment opportunities provided due to the project has led to better quality of life & have also set a standard for future developments in the area. The OWC shall be installed within the shopping mall complex. During Operation Phase: Total solid waste generated during average load (weekday) will be 5250 kg/day and during peak load (weekend) will be 6870 kg/day, which will be properly managed and send to organic waste converter & approved vendors/recyclers. Detailed Solid Waste Management is given Pre-Feasibility Report. During Construction phase: Used oil whenever generated from the DG sets will be kept in leak proof containers in an isolated area and will be sent to approved recycler. During Operation Phase: 146 Lt/month used oil generated from diesel generators is being carefully stored in HDPE drums in isolated covered facility. The used oil is being sold to vendors authorized by Central Pollution Control Board for the treatment of the same. Suitable care is being taken so that spills / leaks of used oil from storage could be avoided and same shall be followed in the expansion phase. 4.4 Other industrial process t Applicable wastes 4.5 Surplus product t applicable 14

During Operation Phase: 2 Kg/month E- waste is being generated and given to approved recycler of SPCB. Battery waste is being generated from inverters & UPS which disposed off as per the Batteries (Management & Handling) Rules, 2011.Same will be followed after expansion phase. 5. 18 6.1 From operation of equipment e.g. engines, ventilation plant, crushers During Construction Phase: Acoustically enclosed DG set of 62.5 KVA capacity shall be installed. The equipment such as mixer machines, bulldozers, cranes, compactors & excavators shall be used which will be of highest standard and will adhere to international standards. Hence, an insignificant impact due to construction machinery is envisaged. Apart from this, the construction activities will be restricted to day time only and timely maintenance of machinery are ensured. During Operation Phase: Source of noise in the operational phase will be D.G. Set of capacity 9 x 2000 KVA & 2 x 1010 KVA. The existing D.G. Sets are being kept acoustically enclosed in room and is being used during Power failure only and same will be followed for the additional DG sets. Used Oil is being stored in HDPE drums and kept in covered rooms under lock and key and sold to authorized vendors only. E-waste is being stored separately and given to approved recycler by CPCB. Special care is taken to prevent leakages and spills and same will be followed in the expansion phase. The amount of waste water generated from shopping mall during average load (weekday) will be 533 KLD and during peak load (weekend) will be 754 KLD. 20 8.1 From explosions, spillages, fires etc. from storage, handling, use or production of hazardous substances During Construction Phase: All appropriate measures shall be taken to avoid accidents. During Operational Phase: Proper Disaster management & firefighting system are installed at site which will be followed for expansion part too. 8.2 From any other causes During Construction Phase: All the labours shall be provided with suitable personal protective equipment (PPE) as required under the health & safety norms. Training and awareness about the safety norms shall be provided to all supervisors and labours involved in construction activity. Same shall be done during further construction. 8.3 Could the project be affected by natural disasters causing environmental damage (e.g. floods, earthquakes, landslides, cloudburst etc.)? The area under study falls in Seismic zone- IV, according to the Indian Standard Seismic Zoning Map. Suitable seismic coefficients in horizontal and vertical directions respectively, will be adopted while designing the structure. 9. Also, the development was carried out as per the defined building by-laws; hence no impact is envisaged due to proposed development. Same shall be followed during further construction Construction phase as well as operation Phase of the project, will generate direct and indirect employment opportunities for a large section of society. The employment will have positive impact thereby increasing the quality of life. such significant land disturbance will result. However, care will be taken so that no erosion, subsidence & instability takes place. Slope Analysis: The project area possesses fairly plain terrain. Erosion / Subsidence: Proper greening & paving of area will not cause any soil erosion problem and subsidence. Seismicity: The area under study falls in Seismic zone-iv according to the Indian Standard Seismic Map. Suitable seismic coefficients in horizontal and vertical directions respectively, will be adopted while designing the structure. The expansion of the proposed project activities will not cause any alteration of natural drainage system. During construction phase, soil was excavated in order to provide of basement and foundation. This excavated soil had already been reused for back filling purposes & Landscaping purpose. The top soil has already been used for landscaping. And since no basement has been proposed for the expansion part hence, no adverse impacts on the land environment are envisaged. 26

28 1.7 Give details regarding water supply, waste handling etc. during the construction period. 1.8 Will the low-lying areas & wetlands get altered? (Provide details of how low lying and wetlands are getting modified from the proposed activity) 1.9 Whether construction debris & waste during construction cause health hazard? (Give quantities of various types of wastes generated during construction including the construction labour and the means of disposal) Water Supply: During Construction stage, water will be sourced through nearby STP through tanker supplier. Waste Generation / Handling: Spillage of oil from the machinery or cement residual from concrete mixer plants would be properly collected disposed off through authorised agency.. For construction labour, proper sanitary facilities shall be provided and good hygienic conditions will be maintained in construction phase. low lying and wetlands area are present in and around the project site. The construction debris generated from the project is common in nature and will not cause any health hazard to associate and nearby population. Approx labours will be engaged during the construction period. Proper sanitary facilities shall be provided to construction labourers. Wash areas shall be constructed and good hygienic conditions is maintained. The sewage and wastewater generated is disposed off to septic tank via soak pit and same will be complied during expansion also. 27

29 2. WATER ENVIRONMENT 2.1 Give the total quantity of water requirement for the proposed project with the breakup of requirements for various uses. How will the water requirement met? State the sources & quantities and furnish a water balance statement. After expansion, the total quantity of water requirement during average load (weekday) will be 1603 KLD. However, the total quantity of water requirement during peak load (weekend) will be 1765 KLD. The water supply will be met by Municipal Supply (ida Authority). Water Balance Diagram is given in Pre-Feasibility Report. The detailed water requirement during average load (weekday) is given below: Domestic: 181 KLD Cooling: 1014 KLD Flushing: 368 KLD Gardening: 20 KLD Backwash: 20 KLD Total Water Requirement: 1603 KLD Total Waste Water Generated: 533 KLD Water Storage during operation: This is an operational Mall. Water storage is already provided after ascertaining day to average requirement. The water main is led into Firefighting storage tanks and from these compartments; the water is allowed to overflow into raw water tanks. 2.2 What is the capacity (dependable flow or yield) of the proposed source of water? 2.3 What is the quality of water required, in case, the supply is not from a municipal source? (Provide physical, chemical, biological characteristics with class of water quality) After expansion, the total quantity of water requirement during average load (weekday) will be 1603 KLD. However, the total quantity of water requirement during peak load (weekend) will be 1765 KLD. Water demand is being supplied by Municipal Supply and same will be followed during expansion In case supply is not made or the supply made is inadequate then the water shall be arranged through Tankers. In that case the water quality at the project site will be of standard as prescribed by the appropriate authority. 28

30 2.4 How much of the water requirement can be met from the recycling of treated wastewater? (Give the details of quantities, sources and usage) 2.5 Will there be diversion of water from other users? Furnish details of the facilities created. 2.8 What would be the impact of the land use changes occurring due to the proposed project on the runoff characteristics (quantitative as well as qualitative) of the area in the post construction phase on a longterm basis? Would it aggravate the problems of flooding or water logging in any way? The treated water generated during average load (weekday) will be 506 KLD and during peak load (weekend) will be 650 KLD which shall be completely utilized for flushing, Cooling, backwash and gardening purposes & no excess treated water shall be discharged in sewer. Approx. 32% (during weekday) and 36.8% (during weekend) of total water requirement is met by recycled water. excess treated water will be discharged to sewer. There will not be any substantial effect on water demand of this region as the development has been done as per the development plan of the area and same will be followed in the expansion phase. The amount of waste water generated from shopping mall during average load (weekday) will be 533 KLD and during peak load (weekend) will be 754 KLD. The waste water generated shall be treated in in-house STP of total 800 KLD capacity The treated water generated during average load (weekday) will be 506 KLD and during peak load (weekend) will be 650 KLD which shall be completely utilized for flushing, Cooling, backwash and gardening purposes & no excess treated water shall be discharged in sewer. The rain water from terraces and other open area is channelized to storm water line. 13 no. of rain water harvesting pit are provided for recharging ground water. The details of Rain Water details are given in Pre- Feasibility Report. There will be no change in land-use from the proposed construction., it will not aggravate the problem of flooding or water logging in any way, rather will reduce the same. 29

31 2.9 What are the impacts of the proposal on the ground water? (Will there be tapping of ground water; give the details of ground water table, recharging capacity, and approvals obtained from competent authority, if any) 2.10 What precautions/measures are taken to prevent the run-off from construction activities polluting land & aquifers? (Give details of quantities and the measures taken to avoid the adverse impacts) 2.11 How is the storm water from within the site managed? (State the provisions made to avoid flooding of the area, details of the drainage facilities provided along with a site layout indication contour levels) 2.12 Will the deployment of construction labourers particularly in the peak period lead to unsanitary conditions around the project site (Justify with proper explanation) 2.13 What on-site facilities are provided for the collection, treatment & safe disposal of sewage? (Give details of the quantities of wastewater generation, treatment capacities with technology & facilities for recycling and disposal) There will be no ground water extraction, however ground water recharging is proposed through rain water harvesting, so, there will be positive impact on ground water levels. As proposed construction has some modification in existing building, hence very less runoff from the construction site. Adequate measures are taken to channelize such storm water and total 13 no. of rain water harvesting pits are provided for recharging ground water. (Existing: 8 has already provided against earlier proposed 5 s). Toilets provided within the shopping complex shall be used by labours during construction phase. Hence, there will be no unsanitary conditions around project site during construction phase. As the toilets provided within the complex shall be used by labours during construction phase. Hence, waste water generated during construction phase shall be treated in in-house STP. The amount of waste water generated from shopping mall during average load (weekday) will be 533 KLD and during peak load (weekend) will be 754 KLD. Dual Plumbing line are provided in the complex for reuse of treated water. 3. VEGETATION 3.1 Is there any threat of the project to the biodiversity? (Give a description of the local ecosystem with its unique features, if any) 3.2 Will the construction involve extensive clearing or modification of vegetation? (Provide a detailed account of the trees & vegetation affected by the project) The ecology of the study area is not very rich in diversity or high in endemism, nearby area is already developed. Planted species are dominated in buffer zone. Core zone is devoid of vegetation. The major mammalian fauna of the project-influenced area involves common languor, Rhesus macaques (Macaqua mulata), mongoose (Herpestris edwardii) etc. Avifauna is primarily represented by common crow (Corvus splendens), House sparrow (Passer domesticus), blue rock pigeon (Columba livia), Rose ring paraqeet (Pitecula cramerii), spotted doves (Streptopilia chinensis) and finches. Common peacock (Pavo cristatus), are known to be present in within 10 km study area. Small reptiles, primarily squamates like lizards, chameleons, poisonous & non-poisonous snakes are also found in the study area. endangered or endemic species (as notified in IUCN Red Data Book) are located within the study area. migratory birds breed in the study area. Tiger reserve / turtle breeding place is located within 15 km radius of the study area. The proposed project site was an open land, which has been earmarked for development of Commercial Complex hence there is no extensive clearing or modification of vegetation. 31

33 3.3 What are the measures proposed to be taken to minimize the likely impacts on important site features (Give details of proposal for tree plantation, landscaping, creation of water bodies etc along with a layout plan to an appropriate scale) There will not be any kind of impact of this project on site features. The Shelter belt for the proposed project has been developed to provide a clean, healthy and beautiful green environment for the people to live in within the proposed project site. To minimize the impact, Green area of 9000 sqm is provided. 4. FAUNA 4.1 Is there likely to be any displacement of fauna- both terrestrial and aquatic or creation of barriers for their movement? Provide the details. 4.2 Any direct or indirect impacts on the avifauna of the area? Provide details. 4.3 Prescribe measures such as corridors, fish ladders etc. to mitigate adverse impacts on fauna. Core Zone: The proposed site has already been constructed and no fauna is found, so in existing conditions this place is not the habitat for local fauna. There will not be any type of displacement or any other effect on the local fauna due to proposed project activities. Buffer Zone : There are wild life sanctuaries within 10 km radius of the project site. There is no distinct plantation at site, as the trees planted are very young, no avifauna seen at site, however, proper landscaping has been planned to provide a clean, healthy and beautiful green environment for the population. Common native variety of trees and ornamental flowering species are planted and more will be planted in the green space which will attract avifauna & hence will have direct positive impact on the local avifauna & this will provide shelter to local birds. Prope r measures shall be taken to p rotect fau na in the a rea. 5. AIR ENVIRONMENT 32

34 5.1 Will the project increase atmospheric concentration of gases & result in heat islands? (Give details of background air quality levels with predicted values based on dispersion models taking into account the increased traffic generation as a result of the proposed constructions) 5.2 What are the impacts on generation of dust, smoke, odorous fumes or other hazardous gases? Give details in relation to all the meteorological parameters. 5.3 Will the proposal create shortage of parking space for vehicles? Furnish details of the present level of transport infrastructure and measures proposed for improvement including the traffic management at the entry & exit to the project site. 5.4 Provide details of the movement patterns with internal roads, bicycle tracks, pedestrian pathways, footpaths etc., with areas under each category. 5.5 Will there be significant increase in traffic noise & vibrations? Give details of the sources and the measures proposed for mitigation of the above. The traffic will increase due to operation of complex. Increased traffic generation of vehicles due to project will not cause significant increase in atmospheric concentration of gases and do not result in heat island formation. Tree plantation in the complex will be provided such that the impact of air pollution shall be minimized. D.G. Set of capacity 9 x 2000 KVA & 2 x 1010 KVA are already installed in the complex which will be operated during power cut only. dust, odour will be generated at site. Smoke will be generated from the operation of DG sets. Proper stack height of 6 m above roof level and 37 m above ground level is provided and emission standards is already being maintained as per CPCB guidelines and same will be maintained for expansion part also. The optimum parking provision is proposed in the basement & surface. Hence there will be no shortage of parking space for vehicles. Total parking provision of complex will be 3127 ECS. Maximum capacity of parking is provided in basement and a proper route have already been provided for the traffic movement as well as pedestrian movement. For further construction, portable noise barriers shall be provided to reduce traffic noise & vibrations and during operation green belt developed within the complex which mitigate the traffic noise. Proper care is being taken during design so that there is not any increase in traffic noise by providing adequate traffic movement, hence no conjunction will cause. The foundation for expansion phase will be made very hard and paved with rubber flooring to minimize the vibration, also all other measures has been adopted during designing that there will not be any causes of vibrations during the traffic density. honking zone within the complex is being maintained. 33

35 5.6 What will be the impact of DG sets & other equipment on noise levels & vibration in & ambient air quality around the project site? Provide details. Since DG sets are already operational there shall be no noise levels, vibration and in ambient air quality around the project site. 1. All the D.G. Sets of the project have been bought and installed in an acoustically enclosed in basement. 2. Stack height as per C.P.C.B. norms to reduce the impacts on air quality around the project site have been provided. 3. The noise from D.G. Sets meets the desired standard as per CPCB guidelines. Low Sulphur fuel is being used to run these D.G. Sets. 4. Vibration pads is being used in DG sets to minimize the vibration effect. Same will be followed in expansion phase also. 6. AESTHETICS 6.1 Will the proposed constructions in any way result in the obstruction of a view, scenic amenity or landscapes? Are these considerations taken into account by the proponents? 6.2 Will there be any adverse impacts from new constructions on the existing structures? What are the considerations taken into account? 6.3 Whether there are any local considerations of urban form & urban design influencing the design criteria? They may be explicitly spelt out. Are there any anthropological or archaeological sites or artifacts nearby? State if any other significant features in the vicinity of the proposed site have been considered. After the expansion of project, it will increase the beauty of the area by having well-ordered building & proper landscaping. Yes, all considerations have been taken by the proponents. The development in the entire project influenced area is as per the provision of Planning Department; hence no adverse impacts are anticipated from new constructions on the existing structures in this area. However, the proposed project will improve the lookout of area. There are no typical urban form & urban design influencing the design criteria. there is no anthropological or archaeological site or artefacts near the site.
