7 Significant Impact achieved Water, Irrigation, Solid Waste 9.7m people benefit from improved water supply 5m people have access to better waste water services with daily treatment of additional 500,000 m³ of waste water Irrigation and drainage of 1.3m hectar improve living conditions of 7m people 6.4m people are going to benefit from improved solid waste management Energy additional capacity 670 MW Renewable Energy installed CO 2 emmissions reduced by 1.35m tonnes per year Know-how transfer by establishing the first windpark in North Africa (Zafarana) Life expectancy of Assuan High Dam increased by 35 years with improved impact Job Creation and Vocational Training about 100 Vocational Training Institutes to be rehabilitated, extended and equipped with some 50,000 students being qualified Approx loans to be extended to SMEs, which will then be revolving Education About 900 primary schools were build or rehabilitated with some 432,000 kids benefitting from a child- and learning-friendly environment 40,000 jobs for unskilled labour were secured and/ or created 7
