Options inluded low-nox (LNB) and Ultra low-nox burners (ULNB) alone and in ombination with Seletive Catalyti Redution (SCR) units. Appliations inluded relatively dirty servie Fluid Catalyti Craking (FCC) units. Additionally, amine treating options to desulfurize fuel gas and sulfur plant tail gas were inluded. (Studies were used to negotiate a Consent Deree.) Evaluation (i.e., hydrauli, radiation, KO and seal drums, smoke potential, noise, et.) of an existing flare system to omply with proess safety management requirements and allow for expansion at an existing petroleum/petrohemial omplex. Designed Thermal Oxidizer system to proess pyridine manufaturing waste gases and liquids high in organi nitrogen ompounds. Unit design inluded steam generation and SCR omponents. Conduted a feasibility study of sulfur removal system alternatives designed to treat an existing Fluid Coker regeneration flue gas. (Study was used to negotiate a Consent Deree.) Designed a ondenser and srubber system to redue hydroarbon emissions from a pharmaeutial vitamin prodution faility. Conduted a feasibility study for a new multipurpose pharmaeutial faility of whether existing equipment used to treat VOCs from groundwater ould be adapted or revamped to treat new vent streams. The study ompared reuse/modifiations needed with new equipment, inluding fume, reuperative, regenerative, atalyti and flameless thermal oxidizers and adsorption alternatives. A proess design pakage was prepared speifying new equipment, and reuse and modifiations/upgrades of some existing equipment to meet pharmaeutial MACT riteria. Prepared an air permit appliation in Radius format for submittal to NJDEP. All the right people in all the right plaes. 4 West Main Street, Rokaway, NJ Telephone: (973) Fax: (973) armagen@armagen.om
3 Near a major metropolitan area there s a hazardous waste remediation projet waiting for proess assessments, permitting, projet exeution plans, and definition of environmental ompliane requirements. The wait is over. Solids and Hazardous Waste Treatment/Remediation Experiene Counts Carmagen s staff has extensive, demonstrated expertise in a variety of environmental engagements inluding: Environmental Permitting Solid and Hazardous Waste Treatment/Remediation Our servies inlude tehnology and proess assessments, permitting, planning and design. We assist in preparing permit douments, projet exeution plans and equipment speifiations, as well as assisting in defining environmental ompliane requirements, performing safety reviews and projet audits. Signifiant expertise is also available in troubleshooting and operations planning. Solid and Hazardous Waste Servies Treatment/Remediation Servies Prepare RCRA permit appliations Develop and interpret treatability plans Condut oneptual design sreening studies Evaluate existing ontrol equipment or systems Perform feasibility studies of ontrol equipment Prepare basis of design and/or basi design pakages Develop operating plans for treatment failities Tehnology Experiene Thikening of Sludge Liquid/Solids Separation Drying Bioremediation Inineration Solidifiation/Stabilization Thermal Desorption All the right people in all the right plaes.
4 Typial Projets Performed By Our Speialists Prepared RCRA permit appliations and developed proess design speifiations for a major Midwestern refinery remediation projet inluding inineration, wastewater pretreatment and bioremediation alternatives. Wastes from proess effluents, spills and stormwater were haraterized and stored in onsite lagoons. Based on treatability results for different treatment options, treatment limits were established through negotiations with the regulatory agenies. A proess design pakage was prepared for the seleted bioremediation proess and assoiated wastewater pre-treatment system. Projet management, onstrution management, start-up and operation of the plant for about a year were also inluded. Prepared tehnology evaluation, treatability studies, oneptual design, and basi engineering design pakage with detailed ost estimate for bioremediation of refinery hazardous wastes in the Caribbean. Also prepared treatability study for land farming of hydroarbon waste produed through aumulated spills and underground seepage. Prepared oneptual design, proess design and permit appliations for bak-up environmental systems to proess hazardous wastes at a New Jersey test faility for new and innovative proesses. Managed operation of a wastewater treatment faility to remove heavy metals and BOD/COD at a NJ superfund site. Groundwater was interepted and treated by equalization, physial/hemial treatment, biologial treatment, arbon, and filtration. Designed groundwater treatment system that inluded a variety of tehnologies inluding phase separation, heavy metals preipitation, filtration, air stripping, and arbon adsorption. Spent air and soil venting air were treated in a regenerative Thermal Oxidizer. Performed operational risk assessments on alternative hemial demilitarization tehnologies that inluded superritial water oxidation, hydrolysis, biotreatment and gas phase hemial redution. Conduted performane evaluations of several innovative tehnologies for soil and groundwater remediation. All the right people in all the right plaes. 4 West Main Street, Rokaway, NJ Telephone: (973) Fax: (973) armagen@armagen.om
5 If you think there s no single resoure for wastewater treatment, environmental permitting, disinfetion, plus primary, seondary and tertiary treatment onsulting servies Think again. Experiene Counts Carmagen s staff has extensive, demonstrated expertise in a variety of environmental engagements inluding: Environmental Permitting Solid and Hazardous Waste Treatment/Remediation Our servies inlude tehnology and proess assessments, permitting, planning and design. 6 Tertiary Treatment Filtration, Adsorption, Ion Exhange, Chemial Oxidation, Membrane Separation Disinfetion Chlorination, Ozonation, UV Typial Projets Performed By Our Speialists Designed an advaned wastewater treatment system for a large refinery to meet disharge requirements utilizing primary oil-water separation by segregating hazardous and non-hazardous soures in separate CPIs. System inluded indued air flotation and float emulsion breaking. Seondary biologial treatment was designed to aommodate large load flutuations, and high inert solids. Sludge was thikened and dewatered. High quality effluent was produed, suitable for plant servie water. Designed ost effetive wastewater treatment shemes for ogeneration and power plants to allow high degrees of reyle, minimizing disharge. This inluded use of a seond ooling tower operating at high yles of onentration. Blowdown required softening, membrane separation and filtration to ontrol the disharge quantity and TDS to aeptable levels. The upgraded produt water was reused at suitable loations. Integrated existing drainage/slop oil wastewater system in parallel with new equipment at an Asian Refinery to meet loal disharge regulations. Developed upgrade and expansion wastewater treatment proess design for proessing ballast water, proess wastewater, stormwater, misellaneous hydroarbon and non-hydroarbon disharges, spent austi and sour water for a South Amerian refinery. Developed wastewater treatment basi engineering design pakage for partially segregated proess streams and stormwater at a silione monomer plant in Asia.
