It is a free tool housed on the WBCSD website: It is the globally accepted tool for use by companies to account for their water use within their operations, calculate their water footprint and identify their areas of high water risk through external mapping. It has been used by over 300 companies to report their water use and is now included in Walmart s Sustainability Guidelines to Suppliers CH2M HILL created the idea and led the development (with 22 corporate partners) in 2007 under the WBCSD banner. CH2M HILL provides technical maintenance of the tool

Companies that report water now may not need the tool but could benefit from its creation. The Tool would be created for use by utilities to calculate their water intensities and meet GRI Sector Indicator The output of the tool would be in a format that could be easily loaded into the Water Intensity Registry (Task 2).
