1 SIALSOL TU ENERGÍA SOLAR, S.L Parque Empresarial Tartessos C/Pollensa 4, Las Rozas (Madrid) Phone/Fax Cell phone Dear Colleagues, First of all, we would like to sincerely thank you for your interest on SIALSOL, to coordinate and prepare a training week in Granada (Spain) imparting theoretical and practical sessions about the technology implemented in the Solar Thermal Power Plants. 1. OF THE TRAINING COURSE IN GRANADA (SPAIN). From the 19 th to the 23th of May. 1.1 GENERAL PURPOSE: The purpose of this training course is to present the basic principles of the various technologies that currently exist to convert solar radiation into thermal energy at temperatures above 150 C, delving into the technology that is more developed from a commercial point of view: the Parabolic Trough solar collectors, from which we will analyze its operation, components, energy balance and commercial applications. 1.2 SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: Specific Objective: Concentrating Solar Thermal Systems. The objective is to provide attendees with basic knowledge about solar thermal concentration systems, and the various technologies currently available to convert solar radiation into useful heat in the temperature range 125 C <T <1500 C. 2 Overview of a plant Solar Radiation and its concentration CSP Solar Power Tower CSP Stirling CSP Solar Parabolic Trough Specific Objective: Components of a Parabolic Trough. We aim to familiarize students with the components, operating principles, basic concepts, parameters and fundamental equations of the parabolic trough collectors. Components of a Parabolic Trough Collector Losses in a CCP The beginnings of the Solar Thermal Power Plants Projects in Spain with Parabolic Trough Collectors and HTF New schemes for Solar Thermal Power Plants using Parabolic Trough Collectors Specific Objective: Storage of the Solar Thermal Power Plants. R&D. We aim to explain to the students which commercial storage systems with Parabolic Trough can be used, and which are their main applications. Also we will explain the most important technological developments that are taking place today in relation to this type of Solar Collectors. PROPOSAL TRAINING GRANADA (SPAIN) P a g e 2 6

The objective is to inform the students about the main equipments that form part of the Power Block of a Solar Thermal Power Plant. The objective is to inform the students about the main equipments that form part of the BOP of a Solar Thermal Power Plant. Characterization of the BOP Water Treatment Plant Main Cooling System Equipment Cooling System Treatment of discharges Study of the solar field solar power plant at design conditions. Specific Objective: Maintenance of a Solar Thermal Power Plant. We aim to explain to the students the different strategies in managing the maintenance of a solar thermal plant. 5 Legal Maintenance Maintenance of a Solar Thermal Power Plant 2. SCHEDULE OF THE TRAINING COURSE IN GRANADA (SPAIN). As near the city of Granada (Spain), there are some Concentrated Solar Power Plants that we can manage to be visited, the training course will take place in this city. During these four (4) days, this will be the agenda: Day one (1). Monday The attendees will be hosted in the hotel ( or similar. Day two (2). Tuesday A copy of our textbook will be given to each one. The attendees will start the training course in a meeting room prepared by the personal of SIALSOL in the hotel. The number of hours would be 8h. Lunch will take place in the Hotel. Day three (3). Wednesday The attendees will start the training course in a meeting room prepared by the personal of SIALSOL in the hotel. The number of hours would be 8h. During this day, we will prepare a software that will allow the attendees in the future to calculate by them self any Solar Field in any part of the world. Lunch will take place in the Hotel. Day four (4). Thursday The attendees will visit the Solar Thermal Power Plant of 50 MWe. In this CSP Plant we will see all the equipments seen during the training course. Day five (5) The attendees will visit the Research Platform called Plataforma Solar de Almería ( This day, the training course will be ended. Note: As Granada is one of the most famous cities all worldwide, with the Alhambra nominated as one of the Seven Wonders of the World, we will also visit this famous palace complex. And we also will have a typical dinner in a tablao flamenco. 3. COST PROPOSAL TRAINING GRANADA (SPAIN) P a g e 5 6
