This program will help students: Acquire the necessary HRM skills in areas including: global staffing, training and development, compensation and benefits, mobility, skills management, employee relations and diversity management; Design and implement HRM policies and practices at corporate/country/site/sbu levels; Operate effectively in a multicultural environment; Develop concrete experience in an international setting; Become familiar with a different organizational culture than that of the student s home country. All lessons are taught exclusively in English. Initial Training (480 hours) + Apprenticeship (1260 hours) Academic year: 1st semester from September 2019 to December nd semester from January 2020 to July 2020 Written exams take place during both semesters of the academic year. Thesis defense in September This program includes an apprenticeship. Students sign an apprenticeship contract with a company for 12 months. The year is organized as follow: from September 2019 to November 2019: full-time classes; from November 2019 to July 2020: 3 weeks in the company & 1 week of classes; from July 2020 to September 2020: full-time in the apprenticeship company. 2 APPLICATION Candidates will preferably have the following profile: A 4-year Bachelor s degree or 1st year Master s degree in Management, Law, Humanities, Human Resources, etc.; A high level of motivation for a career in HRM; Professional experience in an international and/or HRM setting (e.g. internship, summer job); Fluent in English: certification required (accepted tests are listed on the program website along with target scores); Some knowledge of French preferred (no certification required). Due to French legislation concerning company trainees, the program is mainly aimed at French and non-french students below 29 years of age. Enrollment is approved by the President of the University after a careful selection of candidates by the program directors. Students per year: APPLICATION PROCESS Please note that the process is different regarding whether your last diploma was obtained in France or elsewhere (different dates and different required documents). The application period for international students is open until February the15th LIST OF MODULES You will find on page 3 the list of the classes dispensed during the M2 IHRM Master's Degree. Please note that this list of modules is based on the year 2018/2019 and could be partly modified for the year 2019/2020. *Students choose two elective modules. ASSESSMENT Attendance and participation in all classes are compulsory. Any unjustified absence or delay may lead to the student not being admitted to entrance exams. 4 Q&A - IHRM MASTER S DEGREE This Q&A is meant to give you precise answers regarding the IHRM Master's Degree of Paris II Panthéon-Assas. Please make sure to read it carefully before asking for more information. 01 Is your program taught entirely in English? The program is taught entirely in English. However, the apprenticeships take place in French companies where French is usually the primary language. 02 If I do not have a language certificate, is it still possible to apply? You can still apply. However, you need to turn in the certificate before June of the year of application. If you are planning on obtaining your language certification after the deadline or it is not possible for you to obtain a certificate, you must inform Sarah Cavanna, the program coordinator (sarah.cavanna@u-paris2.fr). Please note that only native speakers are exempt from providing a language certificate: previous studies with English as the primary language of instruction or previous studies pursued in English speaking countries do not exempt the applicant from providing a language certificate. 03 What are the required exams or levels for the language certificate? The following tests are accepted as proof of your level of English, along with the target (not required) score indicated: TOEFL Internet Based Test: 100 IELTS Academic: 6.5 No sub-score under 6 TOEIC Listening and reading: 860/995 Speaking and writing: 350/400 We do not accept tests older than two years. 04 Are scanned copies of language certificates accepted or do you require the originals? 5 05 Do I need to find my own apprenticeship before applying to the Master s degree? You do not need to search for an apprenticeship or have one secured before you are officially accepted into the program. Once accepted into the program in the early summer, students are sent approximately 300 apprenticeship offers throughout the summer and early fall from partner companies in France. Students can then choose which apprenticeship offers they are interested in and apply directly. 06 What are the academic requirements for CIFFOP applicants? Applicants are required to have the equivalent of a fouryear bachelor s degree or three-year Bachelor s degree plus one year s Master s degree. Applicants degrees are assessed by our «Action Internationale» department. A minimum of 240 ECTS credits is required in order to be eligible to pursue the program. We welcome students from different academic backgrounds (ex: Management, Law, Engineering, Psychology, etc.). 07 Will it be sufficient to send my application directly to the CIFFOP program or should I also send it via Campus France? 08 What are the tuition fees for the program? Who pays them? Are there any other fees? The tuition fee for the IHRM program is 10,000, however it is not the student who pays the tuition fee, but the partner companies hiring the IHRM students as apprentices in form of the 'taxe d'apprentissage'. If you are not eligible to sign an apprenticeship contract (because you are 31 years old or older or are a so called "primo entrant" meaning a non-eu citizen, who has never lived in France or has lived in France for less than 12 months) you will sign an internship contract (which is limited to 6 months). Students with internship contracts do also not pay the tuition fee but do have to pay a registration fee to the university upon enrollment. Due to a recent change in French law, the registration fee upon enrollment for non-eu students only is of 3,770 for one year of Master's Degree. We are connected with Campus France, which is the French agency that promotes higher education, hospitality and international mobility in France. However, you must apply directly to our program. 6 09 Are all students international or is there a mixture of French and international students? Most of our students come from outside of France. French students must have an international experience to apply for the Master s program. 10 Is the academic program specifically oriented towards France and the French legal system? Or is there a wider European perspective? The academic content of our law module touches on the French legal system, but our academic program is mainly oriented towards international HR Management How long should the cover letter be? 1 page is the ideal length (max. 2 pages) Are technical tests such as GMAT or GRE required/preferred? These are not requirements for the IHRM program. 13 Where can I get more information about the course?
