Inspire Believe Achieve ERDF Assessor 14.8 hours per week, fixed term contract to 30 September 2018 Salary range: 23,497-27,200 pro rata, per annum We are looking for a driven and committed individual who can deliver the ERDF funded training to support the achievement of outputs for pre-start up and new start-up businesses across Cheshire and Warrington. Working within the Work Based Learning Department the successful candidate will hold an Assessor qualification and possess excellent learning and assessment skills, with good working knowledge and understanding of the Awarding Body standards and specifications. A level 4 in a related subject would be desirable but not essential for this role. A full current driving licence, use of a car and insurance for business are essential to this role. 2 ERDF Assessor Job Description Area : Work Related Training and Employer Engagement Salary : S6 Hours of Work (Full-time/Parttime) : As advertised Line Manager : Director of Work Related Training and Employer Engagement Responsibility for : : : Assessment of learners on European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) training programmes. Supporting learner progress through initial assessment through to completion. Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons in line with college policies. Main Purpose of Job: To provide innovative and engaging assessment and progress of learners who are either wishing to set up their own business or support the growth of new businesses through the Business Growth Programme. This will involve: Meeting the needs of learners, employers and other stakeholders Providing high quality training and advice in terms of learner outcomes and learner/employer satisfaction Providing effective, efficient training which represents excellent value for money Reflecting the vision, mission, aims and values of the college Providing training which is innovative, developmental and sector leading Promoting a culture of excellence and equality The post-holder will be a member of the Work-Based Learning team. This post may include evenings and weekends. Key Duties and Responsibilities: (1) Support fully at all times the College s Aims and Objectives (2) Develop and maintain relationships with employers (3) Carry out on-site risk assessments to ensure employers have appropriate health and safety arrangements in place (4) Ensure that all learners have a comprehensive workplace induction, including Health and Safety (5) Ensure that employers are aware of their responsibilities in relation to equality, diversity and inclusion as well as other relevant legislation 2

3 Training and Assessment (6) Establish the appropriateness of the training to ensure its relevance to the learning experience in line with ERDF guidelines. (7) Ensure that the ILP is closely monitored (8) Effectively co-ordinate on and off the job learning and assessment activities (9) Deliver underpinning knowledge to support learning objectives (10) Support students in their studies, preparing assessment records and reports on student progress (11) Contribute to the Course Review and Internal Verification processes and to the Self- Assessment of the area (12) Keep accurate records of all training completed and all contact with learners (13) Attend meetings as required to keep up to date with the requirements of the Business Growth Programme Generic (14) Follow all agreed Quality Assurance Systems and Risk Management systems operating in the College and contribute generally to the establishment and development of a quality provision/service (15) Comply with all College policies and procedures (eg Health and Safety and Equal Opportunities) and ensure that these policies are followed by staff and students (16) Undertake appropriate staff development activities that support personal development and the changing needs of the College and its environment (17) Be aware of, and responsive to, the changing nature of the College and adopt a flexible and proactive approach to work (18) Undertake such other duties as may reasonably be required commensurate with this grade, at the initial agreed place of work or at other locations in the College catchment area This Job Description is current as the date shown.
