1 WORK PLACE LEARNING - APPRENTICESHIPS Customer Service and Business Admin Assessor/Trainer August 2017 Riverside College is a highly popular and successful further education college conveniently located in Widnes and at the hub of the Mersey Gateway, within easy reach of Liverpool, Manchester and Chester. We currently cater for over 3, students, 600 full time adults, 700 apprentices, and deliver a range of Higher Education and part time adult courses. The College was rated Good by Ofsted in 2015 with apprenticeship provision being confirmed as being managed well, and we have been successful in becoming approved on the first publication of the Government s Register for Approved Training Providers. Riverside College have outstanding success rates with apprenticeships well above the national averages both for overall and timely completions. We are working with over 700 employers ranging from small micro businesses to large global organisations.

2 The College has celebrated many recent successes: Riverside was placed 4 th in the country for Vocational Education out of 207 Colleges. Department for Education Performance Table % pass rate on Vocational Programmes 75% Triple Distinctions and Distinction Star Grade Our high quality and bespoke apprenticeship provision supports these employers to expand and upskill their workforce. This has been endorsed by outstanding employer satisfaction rates (96% in an independent national survey) demonstrating how these programmes add value to their businesses and produce substantial returns on investment. Staff have current industry relevant experience to deliver training in the workplace, or in our state of the art facilities, our team work closely with each employer to develop bespoke apprenticeship training so that each apprentice has an outstanding learning experience and reaches their full potential. Our expert team of business advisors are supporting employers with the new apprenticeship reforms including the apprenticeship levy and transition of frameworks to the new apprenticeship standards. We currently offer over 40 different apprenticeships ranging from Intermediate to Higher Level. We are now looking for a Customer Service/Business Administration Assessor, with the ability to deliver outstanding provision to join our talented team. You will be expected to have sound knowledge of current assessment practice with a proven track record of improving progress and attainment for students in the workplace.

3 Job Description Customer Service and Business Admin Assessor/Trainer To support teaching and learning in the school by ensuring the provision of high quality training/assessment on programmes. Assessing/Training To deliver high quality training and assessment at level 2, 3 and 4 to meet the needs of employers and learners To assess students in the workplace, in line with Awarding Body standards To give constructive feedback to learners on assessment decisions and agree future targets To provide internal verification as required To liaise with client organisations to promote the benefits of the college s service and identify organisational and individual training and development needs To maintain accurate and complete learner tracking systems and records to meet college requirements and audit requirements To develop and maintain up to date occupational knowledge To develop and establish new provision through the service and generate additional income for the college To support the delivery of the Maths and English elements of the programme To develop links with local businesses and generate a caseload of candidates To ensure candidates are managed to achieve in a timely manner To positively promote the college and its services in the local area Personal Development To undertake staff development and attend staff meetings as required and requested To undertake continuous professional development

4 Additional Duties To meet the individual needs of all students and customers To promote and safeguard the welfare of young people and vulnerable adults at the college To accept flexible redeployment and reallocation of duties commensurate with the level of the post. Qualifications Relevant qualification to minimum of Level 4 Assessor and verifier qualifications Literacy and numeracy to minimum of Level 2 Evidence of continuing professional development. Knowledge/Experience Experience of effective team working and promoting relationships between staff, students and the community Experience of delivering training or assessing Proven industrial/commercial background Experience of working with external organisations such as awarding bodies Knowledge of Equality & Diversity and Safeguarding issues Clear understanding of customer service and business administration Knowledge and experience of meeting targets and monitoring progress Experience of working in a college environment would be an advantage Experience of delivering training or assessing on Business Admin/Customer Service programmes would be an advantage Experience of delivering work-related programmes including apprenticeships is preferred Experience of e-portfolios would be an advantage.

Additional Requirements Ability to travel as required Willingness to work flexible hours.
