With your help, we were able to reach 98.5% enrollment. he Benefits eam would like to say hank You to each of these hard working individuals, who literally reached out to their employees daily, facilitated presentations/q&a sessions/ computer labs, and ensured that hank You! necessary elections were made.

2 Workplace Violence & Active Shooter Mandatory raining o Register visit Human Resources > Employees University> Workplace Violence & Active Shooter raining his year all benefit eligible employees are required to attend a 2-hour Workplace Violence and Active Shooter raining. Salt Lake County Council approved this training as mandatory per HR Policy Violence in the Workplace in November, Protective Services Deputies will facilitate the trainings which will cover the following topics Definitions related to violence County procedures related to these events Survival skills Building a baseline for normal How to respond to an incident Sexual Harassment Prevention and Ethics raining A ll employees are required to take Sexual Harassment Prevention & Ethics training every two years (in odd numbered years). Updated training will be available to existing employees tentatively scheduled for early Summer Please wait for this training to complete your requirement. All new employees are required to complete the current version of the Harassment Prevention & Ethics raining upon being hired with Salt Lake County. Please note: All new supervisors hired in the first quarter of 2017 are also required to attend an inperson Supervisory Sexual Harassment Prevention training tentatively scheduled for late March (in addition to the current on-line employee training. 2 HR NEWS Salt Lake County

3 SABA Learning Management System Have more control of your professional development and training opportunities! Employee training is changing at the county! his spring Employees University will launch the Saba Learning Management System. his program will change how we manage training, provide online training and how employees will register for instructor lead training. Employees and their managers will have much more control over their professional development. Employees can register for classes through the system, track their transcript, upload outside training and attend virtual meetings. Managers can assign and approve trainings and review their employees transcript. Agencies will also use the program to manage internal training and can possibly track certain certifications. he county also purchased licenses to SkillSoft content for all benefit eligible employees. With more than 3800 trainings in business and leadership, information technology, and desktop software. Look for information in the near future. HR NEWS Salt Lake County 3

4 Job Slotting Appeal Update he Job Slotting Appeals Process is now available to merit non-sworn employees through Friday, March 17. During this window, employees may appeal the grade of their job in the new structure by submitting their information through an online appeal form for third-party review. Once submitted, HR will send the appeal and supporting grade and market data to you, your supervisor and to a third party hearing officer. Next, you will be scheduled for an appeal hearing. After the hearing officer hears the appeal, they will prepare a final report and submit it to the HR Director. Finally, the HR Director will review the Hearing Officer s report and make the final determination. his appeals process will not be able to resolve issues related to inaccurate job descriptions or salary concerns associated with current pay, pay inequity or pay compression. Inaccurate job descriptions and salary questions will be addressed through existing classification review and pay analysis processes already in place in HR. 5 Meet racy Byington racey is the new HR Consultant and has been working since early January racy comes to us from Valley Behavioral Health where she was a Human Resource Manager. racy has also worked as a Human Resources Manager at Nordstrom. racy has over 25 years experience in HR and is PHR certified. We are excited to have racy join the CCR team and are looking forward to the impact she will make to the team and HR.
