36 Aboriginal Long Term Participant Development Pathway RESOURCE DESCRIPTION The ALTPD resource is a culturally appropriate Long Term Athlete Development pathway. It describes the two streams of participants in Canada the Aboriginal Community stream and the Mainstream. It utilizes the holistic model as a framework for creating programming that supports the mental (intellectual & emotional), physical, cultural and spiritual needs of Aboriginal participants. 38 Aboriginal Communities: Active for Life RESOURCE DESCRIPTION The Aboriginal Communities: Active for Life resource is designed for community champions who want to deliver quality sport and physical activity programming in Aboriginal communities. There is a focus on developing physical literacy and cultivating collaborative relationships in communities in order to build a strong platform for all Aboriginal participants.
