Responsible for the analysis of data and business processes, the Financial Services Business Analyst (BA) provides system and process expertise for the College s Financial Services systems to ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations. The BA will perform business process analysis, evaluate technical challenges, document business processes and recommend process improvements and/or technical solutions that increase efficiency and compliance. The BA will work closely with Information Technology staff to support and participate in the development, testing and maintenance of Financial Services related to enterprise systems as assigned. The position will be responsible to configure systems to deliver identified business requirements and resolve technical issues affecting business practices, and is required to balance conflicting and/or multiple priorities. The BA will provide exceptional customer service while resolving system issues, producing and maintaining reporting solutions, facilitating access to financial systems for college-wide users and supporting other projects as assigned. The BA will communicate with customers appropriate to their knowledge and understanding to support resolution and delivery of solutions. The position will also assist in the development and delivery of systems training and webpage updates for the division. 2 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Identify and describe the essential duties and responsibilities, i.e., what actions are done and what are the expected results. Other duties, as assigned, are implicit in all position descriptions. % No. Essential Duties and Responsibilities 20 1 Serve as a primary technical resource for users requiring Financial Services Division systems access, reporting solutions, or other systems related inquiries; provide technical support and customer service to ensure requests and requirements are met and delivered according to college requirements and protocols Participate in interdepartmental systems projects, upgrades, testing, maintenance and implementations, serving as a primary technical resource for functional users of enterprise systems within the Financial Services Division to ensure data and process integrity. Provide system and process expertise to ensure successful completion Perform troubleshooting and analysis to determine root cause of identified system issues, identify solutions, gather user requirements and coordinate the application of corrective action(s). Define, clarify and articulate problems to the Senior Business Analyst and other Financial Services Division leadership by providing details and responding to requests. Resolve service requests Collaborate and perform business process analysis with Financial Services staff to ensure efficient workflow for business processes and systems. Facilitate the review of existing uses of technology within the division, and provide recommendations to department leadership regarding new uses of technology that improve efficiency and compliance Coordinate with Project Management and Business Analysis (PMBA) department team members; Analyze business and data needs, apply appropriate technical tools and methods, and support an integrated relational database structure that satisfies business requirements. Collaborate with Project Management and Business Analysis team members to complete projects/service requests, resolve issues, ensure cross training among business areas/systems, and promote an environment of learning and customer service. 5 6 Maintain and support enterprise systems utilized by the Financial Services Division, including but not limited to Banner, UC4, Touchnet, Marketplace and Argos. Create and maintain system documentation, maintenance procedures and enterprise system rules. 5 7 Design, create and maintain requested data extract reports and other reporting solutions for staff and department administrators using knowledge of SQL, databases, Banner and business processes. Serve as a resource for college staff for Argos reporting development, security and requirements. 5 8 Research and stay current on emerging technology or solutions, and promote the implementation of innovative solutions to meet college needs. Create and maintain high-level procedure documentation. Assist in the development and delivery of functional user training needs. Perform other duties as assigned. 5 9 Participate on committees to coordinate the effective use of enterprise systems college wide. CORE COMPETENCIES.
