1 IFA VISION, MISSION, VALUES, STRATEGY AND BUSINESS PLAN VISION The most internationally respected independent authority on the subject of Airworthiness. MISSION To contribute to the debate and formation of policies, which affect the airworthiness of Commercial Aircraft worldwide, and to influence Regulators, Airlines, Maintenance Organisations and Governments to adopt practices that constantly improve aviation safety. VALUES We will represent and involve members in the formulation of policies and practices, which by continually improving the airworthiness of aircraft will improve the already safe operation of aircraft in service and those about to enter service. We will recruit the widely experienced members to our working Groups and Committees and encourage the involvement of younger members in these groups to increase their knowledge base. Members of the Committees will be actively involved in the collaborative forums between the regulatory forming bodies and industry stakeholders, to ensure that an unbiased technical contribution is made on behalf of the membership, in order to influence positively the safety of aviation. We will share our technical knowledge through the Forums we arrange worldwide, in our Newsletters, White Papers, the IFA Website and Annual Report. We will facilitate active involvement of our membership in regulatory and advisory bodies. We will promote actively the involvement of young people at an early stage of their careers in the development of thinking through our Student and Apprentices scheme and involvement with Universities, Societies and other training bodies. We will always act with integrity in our investigations, reports, white papers and involvement in the industry debates and will always present an unbiased technical opinion on all aspects of aviation safety related to airworthiness. We will continue to develop our Scholarships and Award opportunities to encourage active participation in Airworthiness subjects

2 IFA BUSINESS STRATEGY Objectives To engage with the industry and regulatory bodies to promote the development of all aspects of airworthiness and to improve the overall safety of all spheres of airworthiness worldwide. To develop our sponsorship support from both industry and regulatory bodies. To develop the Corporate, Associate, Student and Apprentice membership for the benefit of the wider commercial aviation industry. Means We will raise our profile by increasing the content of the Members Website and readdressing the recommendations of the report prepared by Russ Sutaria in 2012 entitled Enhancing the exposure of the IFA and ifairworthy.com which included the following: o o o Developing Social Networking to include White Papers and Forum announcements and summaries. Contra Advertising Agreements. Access to free member-to-member preliminary consulting advice. We will rebrand IFA in this its 40 th year of existence in order to achieve the above We will seek to have active involvement in collaborative forums between industry stakeholders, local and international regulatory bodies through our membership, in order to influence the outcome to enhance the safety of commercial aviation. We will target EASA, FAA and develop our relationship with CAA, CASA, HKCAD, UAE GCAA and other regulatory bodies. In order to secure their active involvement in our Forums and technical activities. We will issue a minimum of one White Paper per annum, which we will circulate, using Social Media in addition to our Members, Regulatory Bodies and Airlines. It will be the responsibility of the Technical Committee to initiate the White Papers. We will target to organise one European and one non European Forum per annum. These will be organised in conjunction with the local Airline, the local Regulator, and other Regulatory bodies and will involve a Sponsor. We will develop succession plans for all senior positions with a view to identifying people who are able to secure access to the International Regulatory Bodies and Government Departments involved in setting aviation policies. We will aim to publicise widely the objectives and the work of IFA throughout the industry, in order to secure sponsorship of events and IFA in general, by targeting Airlines, Maintenance Organisations, Manufacturers or other appropriate Organisation each year with a carefully thought out case, detailing the benefits of their involvement. Each EC Member and VP will

3 target one such organisation per annum. We will aim to widely publicise the objectives and the work of IFA throughout the industry, in order to target potential Associate, Student and Apprentice Members through a carefully thought out case for membership. Each EC Member and VP will target at least one new Associate and Student and Apprentice each year. This will include all types of engineers with our without degrees. We will target the issue of one relevant technical paper or report per month to our existing members and will solicit input from them in order to ensure that we retain their involvement and continued membership of IFA. We will revise the SWOT analysis, which was prepared some years ago to determine whether the above is both necessary and sufficient to achieve our objectives. This we will continue to do on an annual basis as part of budget preparation.
