4 THE ENVIRONMENT AND SUSTAINABILITY JOURNEY Business is facing a perfect storm. Increasing demand for scarcer and scarcer vital resources will drive commodity prices ever higher. Rapid population growth, volatility of materials supply and energy prices, plus climatic uncertainty and extreme weather events will combine to ensure businesses operate in an increasingly complex and difficult world. Organisations need to recognise and prepare for these changes, to turn the challenges into opportunities. To do so they need to put environmental management and sustainability at their heart. In the new business world, sustainability will no longer be a bolt-on to the way organisations work, it will have to be in their DNA. Environment and sustainability skills will be essential to plan the adaptations needed to survive and stay competitive, helping them adapt manufacturing processes and service delivery to cope with supply volatility and to work towards a circular economy extracting the maximum value from materials and turning waste into resources.

SPEAKER OPPORTUNITIES AT IEMA EVENTS You will have at least one opportunity per year to speak at either an IEMA National Conference, Regional Event or an IEMA webinar. Our National Conferences offer our 200 attendees the opportunity to share knowledge and to network. We offer over 150 webinars a year, which are regularly attended by over 400 participants.

INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS If your organisation has over 50 IEMA individual members, they will be entitled to a 5% discount on their membership renewals, if they are administered through a single administration process. 11. SUPPORT IEMA S POLICY AND POSITION STATEMENTS IEMA publishes a series of Position Statements throughout the year. There are opportunities to support the development of these publications and copies will be made available to all IEMA members. In addition, there are also opportunities to engage in consultation when working to develop industry standards, where appropriate. A structured approach to ensuring that future environmental threats and opportunities are sufficiently analysed and addressed.
