2 About the Programme Behaviour is the science that explains how to achieve high performance working with people in an organisational setting and how to create organisations to which people want to belong. Understanding how an organisation gets results is a key requirement for success. Having organisational behaviour insights, no ledge and s ills can ma e a signi cant difference to the impact of a manager and the survival and success of the organisation. 3 The IMI Diploma in Behaviour provides you with a framework for bringing people together from diverse backgrounds or lines of business to effectively execute strategic initiatives. Participants will learn psychological principles, techniques and approaches that will have immediate practical impact in their organisation. Who This Programme Is For This programme is aimed at those who wish to gain a more thorough grasp of the human and organisational sciences and who recognise that professional development in this area would enable them and their organisations to cope better with the future. This course is open to candidates from any management function. The programme is relevant for people with backgrounds in different disciplines, provided their job requires them to deal with people and organisational issues. Modules are typically held on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Classes usually run from 09:00 to 17:00 each day. All teaching is held on the M s National Management Centre in Dublin. 4 Programme Content The IMI Diploma in Behaviour incorporates six core subject themes, covering essential areas of contemporary social psychology. THEME 01 Self-awareness for THEME 02 Managerial Decision Making THEME 03 Motivation and Engagement Each subject theme has dedicated faculty experts responsible for integrated content delivery. The faculty group combines a blend of real world business experience and technical expertise that is unique to IMI. Impact of personality on performance Team roles and management effectiveness The sensitive line in feedback Integrating personality context and performance Emotional intelligence reativity and exibility in solving problems o to overcome a s in the decision making process Developing frameworks for making more informed decisions Monitoring, improving, practising decision making skills Implement managerial decision styles Group decision making: the advantages and disadvantages Understanding the basic motivation process Explore content and process theories Evaluate behavioural psychology Practice positive psychology and mindfulness xplore Albert andura s social-cognitive theory Integrating characteristics that drive high performance Programme Features Class Diversity & Networking Interactive Classes Core concepts, techniques and practical tools are introduced in interactive classroom sessions, in which debate and discussion are constantly encouraged. Guest Seminars In addition to regular classes, guest seminars from visiting experts are a common feature of the programme. These sessions provide you with an opportunity to analyse and discuss issues of contemporary concern with seasoned organisational experts. The IMI Diploma in Behaviour appeals to a uniquely diverse cohort of experienced managers from a wide range of industries and backgrounds who are intently focused on broadening their knowledge and developing their skills. Throughout the year you will work closely with your class colleagues in team activities and organised study groups. 6 Entry Requirements Participants are required to provide evidence of relevant workbased learning at a management level and/or should hold a relevant academic uali cation at primary degree level. Validation Successful participants will be awarded both the IMI Diploma in Behaviour and the UCC Postgraduate erti cate in ehaviour. The Postgraduate erti cate uali cation is validated and a arded by niversity College Cork National University of Ireland, Cork and is a evel 9, Minor A ard on National rame or o uali cations. By completing this programme you will also earn one-third of the credits re uired to be a arded a Masters uali cation. Assignments and Workload To attain the participants are assessed in each of the main subject areas via a variety of practical assignments. This programme involves no examinations - instead the emphasis throughout is on the practical application o no ledge to bene t you and your organisation. Assessment workload is spread across the year to allow you to combine learning with work and life demands. In order to accelerate learning, between modules participants are expected to complete assigned reading from texts and articles. Pricing and Payment Options IMI prices are inclusive of core textbooks and psychometric pro ling tools, meals and par ing at the M National Management Centre. These prices are only guaranteed for the Spring 2017 intake of the IMI Diploma in Behaviour. Tax Relief on Tuition Fees If you are paying for your tuition fees yourself, it is now possible to apply to the Revenue Commissioners for tax relief for this IMI Diploma. The amount of relief available varies from person to person, and may be as high as 1,400. Tax relief is allowable per programme, per participant, per academic year. Relief will not be available for any part of tuition fees which are met directly, or indirectly, by grants, scholarships, employer payments etc. Please see for further information on how to apply for this relief. All decisions on individual tax relief requests are subject to the discretion of the Revenue Commissioners. For 2017, the IMI offers promotional rates and innovative payment options that make our programmes more accessible than ever. IMI Diploma in Behaviour Corporate Member SME Non-Member 8,390 9,190 9,990 Monthly Payments Pay for your IMI Diploma by monthly payments spread over the duration of the programme. IMI Staged Payments Pay for 60% of your course in advance of its commencement and the 40% balance is due before the start of your fourth module. Reflective Integrated Assignment Completion of the MBS pathway is contingent on participants completing the RIA (5 credits) capstone assignment. Guidance is offered through a compulsory one-day facilitated workshop and ongoing support and access to the IMI Knowledge Centre is also provided at a cost of 650.
