1 PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT INSTRUCTION PART 1: 1. WAREHOUSE - STRUCTURE AND EQUIPMENT 2. HOW TO DEFINE NEW ITEMS IN A WAREHOUSE? 3. PURCHASING ATTENTION : SOMETIMES THERE ARE POLISH NAMES IN DATABASE, THEY ARE HIGHLIGHTED. ACADEMIC YEAR: 2014/2015

Warehouse 1.1 Checking the warehouse placement in the enterprise structure Where are we working with - Object of work: WAREHOUSE 22, Department no 2 (in polish: Oddział 2 ), type of the warehouse: Magazyn Typ I (in polish); To check the structure: STOCK MANAGEMENT LOCATION VIEW PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT 2
3 External maneuvering square Faculty of Management Engineering When we would like to check how the object is structured we have to click on an arrow next to the name: 1.2 Checking the structure of the warehouse The example of the warehouse structure is presented below: GATE (for production Buffer 1 (storage on the floor oversized products) (aisle 05 ) Buffer 3 Fast moving items (aisle 06) hall) Buffer 2 Palettes EURO (aisles 01-04) Accumulation bin 2 (In_05) Unloading dock (In_01 In_04) Loading dock Accumulation bin 1 (Out_05) (Out_01- Out_04 OFFICE Staging area and charging station for forklifts Empty palletes Deposit zone (Social area) How to check our warehouse?: PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT 3
4 Stock management area Setup Stock breakdown warehouses (look below) We can check: sites, warehouses, aisles, areas, zones and location, what is the definition of the warehouse structure. When we choose: WAREHOUSES, you will see the window: PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT 4
5 From that window you are able to check: general information, type of the warehouse, warehouse management, location names and the hierarchy of the warehouse. Warehouse types: - DEFAULT basic warehouse type; - QUARANTINE it is ordered to the warehouses with the default type. When products are controlled qualitative and qualitative, they are put into that warehouse. - TRANSIT- e. g. road tractor with a semi - trailer which goes beteween in receiving and issuing warehouses. Warehouse management: There can be defined such information as: - Default input location location for products which we are receiving (unloading dock In), PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT 5
6 - Default output location location from which inventories are taken away (loading dock Out). - Location for empty pallets where they are put in the warehouse? Location names what will be the format of the location in the warehouse Hierarchy where our warehouse is a subject to? TASK: Please characterize warehouse no (what kind of information you will use to characterize it?) Stock aisles How to check stock aisles? At the window of the warehouses (look above) you have to click: INQUIRES STOCK AISLES. You can also check the locations. You will see all aisles in the warehouse, where you can check locations (look below): PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT 6
7 TASK: Please check number of aisles in the warehouse no Locations WHAT IS LOCATION? Locations are representing the smallest undivided places in warehouse. LOCATION EXAMPLE AISLE RACK How does it look like? (look below) SHELF BIN PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT 7
8 There is a possibility to check each location. On the bookmark: GENERAL, there is possibility to define for example: - Rack, Shelf, Bin, Maximum number of pallets, height above the floor and physical dimension of the location. We can also check the TREE STRUCTURE to check our warehouse structure (see below) PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT 8
9 TASK: Please check locations in aisles no 01 and 03 in the warehouse no 22 (PrintScreen in the report) Other possibility of checking aisles and locations in the warehouse: STOCK MANAGEMENT STOCK BREAKDOWN STOCK AISLES/LOCATIONS. We can check from that window what type of pallets are in locations: PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT 9
10 TASK: Please present the structure of the aisle 03 of the warehouse 22. Check what types of locations are in racks: 01, 04, 06? (PrintScreen in the report) STORE ZONES/AREAS Stock Management Setup Stock Breakdown Store zones/ Store areas PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT 10

12 1.3 WAREHOUSE EQUIPMENT What can we check? people, forklifts, pallets How to check equipment? Stock Management Setup Stock Equipment pallets/forklifts PALLETS We can check pallets types. Choosing PALLETS button results in a list of all pallets with their ID numbers (see below) In general bookmark we can check for example the height, ID of the pallet s type. PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT 12
13 In the Overview bookmark There will be a list of all pallets in the system. We can create new pallet <ctrl+ N> TASK: Check and show a Print Screen with the height of 3 choosen pallets in warehouse no FORKLIFTS When we choose a forklift from the available equipment we can check the following information: operator, time of transportation, download/destination location. TASK: Check write everything what you know about the forklift: 2. HOW TO DEFINE NEW ITEMS IN A WAREHOUSE? WHERE? Stock Management Common forms Details. PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT 13
14 ITEM CARD item pattern Faculty of Management Engineering Here are all products and components. It is a common database To add new Item we can use CTRL + N or use a menu. When you will create new item system will offer you a possibility of using defined pattern. First item make with: blank (see below). Each item is defined in the database by some information like: Item number, Item name, Search name (it is helpful during searching an item), Item group - group of products eg. Products (named in a system WYROBY - in polish), Item Type (There are eg. ITEM (we buy it), BOM (Bill of materials) if a product is consisted of some components) Each item has got many bookmarks like: GENERAL, SETUP, etc., which characterize items. TASK: Create new item with the characteristic presented in the Table: PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT 14

Those information should be made up after you select an item (it will be highlighted), then: Settings (button) Goods Warehouse. We can establish warehouse characteristic of the product. Warehouse zone Default location in warehouse 22 Default input location in warehouse 22 All-22 In_01 Warhouse pattern Default output location in warehouse Minimum stock level Out_01 If there are similar products which should be introduced into the system you should use a pattern: How to create a pattern? ITEM Type ITEM TASK: Create a pattern name: student s ID Choose an item (record) which will be your model and right click it to get the menu where you choose information about record you will use to 42 PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT 15
16 create your item. We will use a Company accounts template. You will see a window where we define the name of the template (your student ID) When you will create new item (new record) there will be a possibility to use your template. Each time when you will try to introduce new item to the system (Ctr +N) you will see a list of patterns, including yours. TASK: Define into the system all products from the Table (see below). Show a Print Screen with all your items (of 2 pair). We have to introduce that into the system. 3.1 Definition of an order WHERE?: Purchase ledger Common forms Purchase order details You will see the purchase file - order form can be displayed as simple or advanced, you can switch the modes by clicking the button at the right top. Switch to advanced button. PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT 18
19 This window consists of 2 parts on the top there is a list of orders, below there is a window with a list of all products which a supplier should deliver. TOP: in bookmarks there are information about suppliers. BOTTOM: in bookmarks there are information about ordered products we can change data about THE UNIT PRICE and QUANTITY DISCOUNT. TASK: Create new order according to the specification and write in the report it s number (of pair): SPECIFICATION OF THE ORDER: - PRODUCT 1 - Quantity: 126 szt., - Price: 15 PLN, - division 2, warehouse VENDOR number: 1102 How to create new order? < Ctrl+N > You will see the window like that below: PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT 19
20 Choose a supplier -> if necessary modify default data -> click OK. To put products to be ordered into your order add new records in lower part of the screen and choose an item code and define the quantity. TASK: Create a document for your purchase and write down its number (attach that into report - 2) Printing requirements To create a document of your order use the button: Records/ purchase orders Select the Print field and choose proper quantity to choose the whole option all is recommended. 21 REMEMBER TO CLICK SAVE TO save all changes in the system 3.2 ACCEPTANCE OF GOODS IN A WAREHOUSE Where? Stock management Periodic Arrival overview The following window will open: Put the right information : a) Display option (look at the window) b) Site: 2 c) Warehouse: 22 d) Line (information about items ordered from a supplier) e) Receipts (list of placed orders to suppliers) - choose your order check it Select for arrival: PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT 21
22 Then click to: START ARRIVAL (BUTTON at the right side). There will be created Arrival sheet you will see the following window: PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT 22
