1 SafetySkills Course Information Effective Training SafetySkills creates the most effective HR and EHS courses available because it ensures a lean-forward, front-of-the-seat learning experience. Highly Interactive At least one interaction every 3 minutes World-Class Content Rich with video, 3-D animations, fully narrated and 508 compliant Competency-Based Design Learners must demonstrate competence through individual interactions to advance through the training Always Current. Always Compliant. Are your employees tired of seeing the same old courses? We are continuously updating our titles with new animations, imagery, and interactions to keep your recurrent training fresh and engaging. Have Your Own LMS? If you already have a learning management system (LMS) you can still use SafetySkills content. All of our courses are SCORM 1.2 and AICC compliant and can be managed by most other major LMS providers. Our courses can be subscribed to on an annual basis, or you can own them with a perpetual license. Since we began using SafetySkills online safety training courses, we have increased the amount of training available to our associates and they are retaining more of the material. Phil Walsh - Safety, Health & Environmental Manager, Ecolab, Inc. 1
2 SCORM 1.2 Our Courses... Two Course Formats Competency Format The default setting for all courses, if it does not specify that it is Traditional, it is Competency Course plays a section of content and then asks a series of questions, must get 100% correct to progress through the course Traditional Format Some courses have this format, characterized by saying Traditional Course plays all of the content and asks a series of questions at the end, must get a 70% to pass Two Types of Questions Internal Questions Colored green Generally a multiple choice or true/false question that relates to a specific frame If answered incorrect, learner will be taken back to the specific related content frame and then asked the question again Competency Question Colored red Generally a multiple select, drag and drop, matching question or exercise simulation that relates to an entire section of the course If answered incorrect, the learner will be taken back to review the section and then asked the question again 2
