2 Supply Chain Warehouse and Automation Initiative WHAT is the SC Warehouse and Tool Room Automation Initiative? 1 st of a kind system Leverage technology and process innovation to improve efficiency, reduce costs and maintain high quality warehouse and toolroom operations. How does it work? Using RFID technology which uses radio waves to read and translate information that is stored on a tag similar to many credit cards

Automate data entry for Receipts, Stocking and Issue of Tools and Material Reduce or eliminate the need for physical resources at SC Issue Point Establishes Satellite Warehousing Provides real time inventory tracking Establish a delivery program eliminating the need for customers to travel to and from warehouses and tool rooms to pick up material/tools Control material/ parts inventory tracking and accounting

4 RFID Automated Data Entry Supply Chain Warehouse and Automation Initiative Provides the capability for warehouse personnel to simply pass most items near RFID readers to accomplish the needed transaction. The material is tagged with RFID capable labels which are automatically scanned by RFID readers located in handhelds. Historically, transactions take ~15 minutes per a warehouseman or woman and craft personnel lose ~45 minutes of work time to complete a full transaction.

5 Self-Serve Entry Points Currently, the warehouse and toolroom areas are secured to prevent unauthorized entry. RFID technology eliminates the need for around the clock coverage in the toolrooms. Identified customers will be authorized to enter the warehouses during non-shift or off-hours to gain obtain materials for emergent needs. A valid work order and user ID will be required for entry. The system will track activity and materials upon entry and will notify the administrator of unauthorized activity.

6 Establishing Satellite Warehousing A Satellite Warehouse is a physically secured storage area utilizing either a Sea-Lands or Conex trailers equipped with an CribMaster AccuPort Placement Examples: 1. Near the Maintenance shop 2. Placed strategically to support outages 3. Placed in areas where fabrication work is needed away from established warehousing

7 Delivery Of Tools And Material To Designated Satellite Locations Or Staging Areas Customer will generate an order for delivery Supply Chain personnel will fill the order and deliver it to the Satellite location or staging area, if appropriate Customers will no longer have to travel to the warehouse to obtain material for planned work Supply Chain maintains control over the material until the customer exits the staging area with the tools or material

8 Real-time Inventory Tracking And Accountability Provides capability to inventory an area for tools and material and locate lost or misplaced tools and equipment. Reduces or eliminates the time needed to complete inventory counts. This technology can be expanded to include FME control which will greatly reduce time required for containment cleanup.

9 Enhanced Material Accounting Materials remain under Supply Chain control and are not charged from inventory until actually used.. Budgets are not impacted weeks or months before use Overstock due to material returns is significantly reduced Material returns are more efficient.. Provides for easy control/tracking of returned material Eliminates trips to the warehouse to return material Material return transactions are finalized upon inspection by SC personnel
