1 Launch of ACFI Advance Air Cargo Handling Training program by the Hon ble Minister of Civil Aviation on 18 th May 2017 at Hyatt Regency Delhi Left to Right:- Mr. Tushar Jani, President, Air Cargo Forum India, Ms. Vandana Aggarwal, Economic Advisor, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Dr. Renu Singh Parmar, Senior Advisor, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Shri Ashok Gajapathi Raju Pusapati, Hon ble Minister of Civil Aviation, Mr. Cyrus Katgara, Vice President, Air Cargo Forum India Need of Skill Development Programs in Air Cargo Logistics Trade In 2016 MoCA constituted a Task Force Committee headed by Mr. Venu Bangera, CEO, DCSC at IGIA comprising of members from the entire air cargo logistics industry to prepare training program for imparting Basic Cargo Awareness Program (BCAP). The said task force group prepared the said BCAP material which was duly approved by MoCA. Till now 28 BCAP programs have been conducted successfully by both the cargo terminal operators of Delhi Airport (M/S DCSC & CELEBI) covering 1500 people of Delhi. This BCAP program were followed by other cargo terminal/ Airport operators also at other international airports (200 by MIAL, 200 by BIAL, 150 by GHIAL and 750 by AAI at its Airports) bringing the total number of trained people all over India as 2800.

2 ACFI Developed Advance Air Cargo Handling Training Program (AACHTP) After conducting a series of successful Basic Cargo Awareness Program (BCAP) at all the international airports by the cargo terminal operators at their respective international airports of the country, ACFI Sub-committee on Skill Development took up the responsibility given by the government (MoCA) on developing an Advance Air Cargo Handling Training Program (AACHTP). With the support of all the experts from the cargo industry stakeholders of air cargo logistics trade across the country, the ACFI Sub-committee on Skill Development was able to finalize two such AACHTP i.e. one on Cargo Terminal Operations and other on Freight Forwarders module with the following features;- The ACFI Advance Air Cargo Handling Training Program with these two above modules was launched by Hon ble Minister of Civil Aviation Shri Ashok Gajapathi Raju Pusapati when Dr. Renu Singh Parmar, Sr. Adviser, MoCA was also present on at AM, Hyatt Regency Delhi, Bhikaji Cama Place, New Delhi in the presence of more than 125 numbers of senior Govt. officials, members from various trade bodies and representatives of entire air cargo logistics industry for the benefit of Air Cargo Industry in India contributing to Government of India s Skill India plans. The above ACFI event was anchored by Mr. Rishi Herenz of DIAL. On this occasion Mr. Tushar Jani, President ACFI welcomed the Chief Guest Shri Ashok Gajapathi Raju Pusapati the Hon ble Minister Civil Aviation with a bouquet of flowers, followed by Mr. Cyrus Katgara, Vice President ACFI welcoming to Dr. Renu Singh Parmar, Sr. Adviser, MoCA the guest of honour on the dice. Thereafter the conventional ceremony of lighting of lamp was held by the Chief Guest & other dignitaries present on the dice.

Dr. Renu Singh Parmar, Senior Adviser, MoCA who has made extra ordinary efforts to improve the air cargo trade particularly in developing BCAP & Advance Air Cargo Handling Training Program by the task force committee, in her address said that there is great future of cargo growth touching 10 to 11 Million Mt in next 10 years. Also as per a recent survey, more than 2 Lac skilled people would be required in next 10 years in the aviation sector therefore she said that this day should be considered a great day in the air cargo sector of Indian aviation. The two modules of ACFI Advance Air Cargo Handling Training Program (AACHTP) namely Cargo Terminal Operation and Freight Forwarders module were launched by the Chief Guest Shri Ashok Gajapathi Raju Pusapati along with Dr. Renu Singh Parmar, Ms. Vandana Aggarwal, Economic Adviser, MoCA, Mr. Tushar Jani and Mr. Cyrus Katgara. Mr. Venu Bangera said that the ACFI Sub-committee took up the responsibility given by the government (MoCA) on developing an Advance Cargo Handling Training Programs (ACHTP) on the following modules;- i) Cargo Terminal Operation (CTO) Module ii) Freight Forwarders Module iii) Customs Brokers Module iv) Airline Operation Module And said that with the support of cargo professionals from all the stakeholders of the air cargo logistics trade the ACFI subcommittee on Skill Development has prepared two modules of ACHTP i.e. one on Cargo Terminal Operations and other on Freight Forwarders module with the following features;- a) Cargo Terminal Operations module is a two day program distributed in 9 modules covering all aspects related to Physical, Documentation and Data Transfer. It covers process related to Export, Import and Domestic operations starting from acceptance, unitization and binning and DE stuffing. A dedicated section covers safety and security at terminal too. A visit to the terminal is also planned a hands on experience and understanding of Terminal Operations. b) Freight Forwarding is a one day module covering booking of export cargo and preparation of all types of cargo for Ready for Carriage. The Chief Guest Shri Ashok Gajapathi Raju Pusapati, Dr. Renu Singh Parmar and Ms. Vandana Aggarwal were felicitated by Mr. Tushar Jani, Mr. Cyrus Katgara and Mr. Sanjiv Edward respectively with ACFI memento in token of appreciation from ACFI members & the guests present.

5 Address by the Chief Guest The Hon ble Minister of Civil Aviation in his speech reminded the members about the contribution of great visionaries of our country in the past particularly in the logistics sector first by the emperor Sher Shah Suri the creator of Grant Trunk Road from Bengal to NW of India more than 500 years ago and then Mr. J. R. D. Tata the doyen of the Indian aviation who had started the first air transportation in India during 1932 from Karachi to Bombay via Delhi and then it is history. The Hon ble Minister of Civil Aviation in his speech emphasized upon the strength of the education/ skill in the betterment of one s life right from his berth. He further added that the skill is very important to work as a team for an individual and for the country to obtain a rightful place in the world. He complimented ACFI for continuously doing good job in the area of developing skill among the people engaged in the air cargo logistics industry. He congratulated the cargo experts involved in the development of BCAP & now the Advance Air Cargo Handling Training program modules like Cargo Terminal Operation & Freight Forwarders for the benefit of the air cargo trade & industry and some more in the future. He also thanked Dr. Renu Singh Parmar, Senior Adviser, MoCA for her presence & continuous guidance & support to air cargo logistics trade & industry particularly for its development through Air Cargo Logistics Promotion Board (ACLPB). Mr. Cyrus thanked Ms. Vandana Aggarwal, Economic Adviser, MoCA for her presence & welcomed her on her assuming charge in the Ministry of Civil Aviation as Economic Adviser. Mr. Cyrus thanked all the members of the air cargo trade fraternity for their valuable presence in this important function & continuous support to ACFI. He also thanked the representatives of cargo print media for their presence & continuous service to the air cargo logistics trade & industry. Mr. Cyrus also thanked the management of the Hyatt Regency Delhi & its staff for their exemplary support & service provided.
