1 FOR IMMEDITE RELESE Press Release Presentation Ceremony of HKQ CSR Index and HKQ Hong Kong Registration Eco-friendly Series (13 May 2016, Hong Kong) Hong Kong Quality ssurance gency (HKQ) held the Presentation Ceremony of the HKQ Hong Kong Registration Eco-friendly Series and HKQ CSR Index today at the Cordis, Hong Kong, to recognise organisations with ecofriendly and social responsibility performance. 51 Eco-friendly Products & Services Recognised There is an increasing awareness of the environmental performance of organisations, as well as the environmental impact of the products and services they deliver. More buyers and retailers now impose green requirements on suppliers and service providers to meet public expectations. These are driving the surge in eco-friendly products and services. To cope with this market trend, HKQ has developed the "HKQ Hong Kong Registration - Eco-friendly Series" to encourage organisations to integrate environmental aspects into the design, production, delivery, use and disposal of their products and services, so as to improve environmental performance. The initiative recognises organisations contribution to promoting environmental protection, based on the traceable evidence that they have done so. It aims to enhance industry and public support for ecofriendly products and services. The environmental efforts of manufacturers, suppliers and service providers can be showcased through registering their products and services as Eco-friendly Products and Eco-friendly Services. 51 eco-friendly products and services of 12 organisations have completed the assessment process of the Pilot Programme. They were recognised in ceremony today. There are 45 products (please refer to ppendix 1 for the list of participating organisations and registered products) and 6 services (please refer to ppendix 2 for the list of participating organisations and registered services) 38 Organisations Presented CSR Index fter that, the Presentation Ceremony of HKQ CSR Index was held. 38 organisations were presented CSR Index Marks. mong which 24 organisations received the CSR dvocate Marks and 14 organisations received CSR Plus Marks (please refer to ppendix 3 for the list of participating organisations). Ir C. S. Ho, Deputy Chairman of HKQ said, We are glad that HKQ Hong Kong Registration - Eco-friendly Series and CSR Index have received positive responses from industry and stakeholders. Many organisations have taken the lead to join the initiatives and demonstrate their commitment. I believe their good practices will motivate more industry members to follow.
