As part of our purpose to bring healthy food from field to table, we focus on opportunities to improve health and education in the communities in which we operate. 4 Environment SunOpta has long understood the connection between strong environmental stewardship and strong financial performance. The company is focused on lowering costs and improving operating profits by using less energy and water in production facilities and partnering with recyclers to maximize the reclaimed value from waste products. To assess progress towards our 2020 goal of 90% WASTE ACROSS ALL FACILITIES SunOpta set an interim goal of 60% WASTE AWAY FROM LANDFILLS by the end of 2015 Overall waste diversion rate across the company = 79% WORKING WITH 78% 96% WASTE across North American Facilities WASTE across International Facilities RECYCLING AT ALLENTOWN, PA FACILITY new aseptic line created 240tons in new waste streams SINCE 2015 HAVE RECYCLED 313 tons of CARDBOARD 13 tons of PLASTIC Sonoco Recycling INSTALLED A BALER at the beginning of the aseptic production line that allows Allentown to RECYCLE MILK CARTONS ENVIRONMENT
