Two boreholes i.e. IBBA-7 and IBBA-8 were drilled from April 2015 to 30 th August, Three regional coal seams of Barakar Formation (Parkhani, Lajkhura and Rampur from top to bottom) were intersected between m and m. The Lajkhura seam having the maximum cumulative thickness of m (IBBA-7) with ten splits is most important for its regional persistence and thickness. The other seams Parkhani (maximum cumulative thickness of m in seven splits in IBBA-8) and Rampur (maximum cumulative thickness of m in nine splits in IBBA-7) too have regional persistency were intersected during the drilling of the two boreholes. The important achievement in the Bandbahal Block is the increase in cummulative coal thickness of Lajkura seam zone. Geophysical logging of 1,622 m was carried out. The block may proved to be economically potential area for coal resource.the exploration work was completed. Regional exploration by mapping & drilling. A cumulative coal thickness of m has been intersected in five boreholes (IBBR- 4, 5, 6, 7 & 8). Formational thickness of Kamthi Formation varied from 0 m to 10 m, thickness of Raniganj Formation varied from m to m, thickness of Barren Measures Formation varied from m to m and thickness of Barakar Formation varied from m to m. Four coal seams of Raniganj Formation (R-IV, R-III, R- II, and R-I from top to bottom) and five coal seams of Barakar Formation (Belpahar, Parkhani, Lajkura, Rampur and Ib from top to bottom) have been established. R-I (cumulative thickness m in IBBR-7) among Raniganj coal seams and Lajkura (cumulative thickness m in IBBR-6) among Barakar coal seams are the thickest. All the coal seams of Raniganj Formation and Belpahar seam zone of Barakar Formation are within 300 m. Remaining coal seams of Barakar Formation continue beyond 600 m. Geophysical logging of 3,532 m was carried out in five boreholes. Three PCS and 3 petrological samples were collected for analysis. The exploration work was completed.

Bolangir Gudighat Barbandha PGE Kendujhar Patakhali- 1: and Balijori and Dhenkanal Ghuturigaon- Mundasahi G-3 stage investigation was carried out to identify potential zones of manganese ore bands. Manganese ore occurs as WNW-ESE trending discontinuous bands with 52 o dip towards SW. Mn ore occurring as pyrolusite and psilomelane is exposed on isolated mounds over 1 km with an average width of 10 m. Most of the ores are hard, compact and fragmented in nature. Analytical results of trench samples showed manganese and phosphorous concentration from % and 0.25 to 0.72%, respectively. G-3 stage investigation was taken up to prove the depth persistence of the PGE mineralisation in the central part of Tasampalaiyam block (T3 sector). During , second level drilling was continued in T3 sector and 10 second level boreholes were drilled.
