2 To whom it may concern, We are writing to you concerning a sponsorship opportunity for the 2 nd Oshwal Awards to be held on 24 th February 2018 The Oshwal Youth League has been in existence for almost 90 years and is a youth driven organisation that promotes youth and women development and creates leadership opportunities for current and future generation in the arts, sporting, entrepreneurship and volunteering activities amongst many others. The Oshwal Awards was conceptualised to honour and appreciate the exemplary achievements and contributions that Visa Oshwals have made across all aspects. The categories cover business, charity, sports, youth, media, education, bravery, arts and entertainment across East Africa. 3 WHO ARE WE? The Oshwal Youth League (OYL) informally existed since 1928 and was registered as a Society in 1954 hence this being its 62 nd birth year The Oshwal Youth League is a youth driven organisation that promotes youth development and providing leadership opportunities for the generation in sporting, entrepreneurship and volunteering activities amongst many others. The organization now in the eightieth year has consistently and successfully been making an impact in Kenya The Oshwal Youth League also encompasses Women s Wing which was set up as a subcommittee of the league in the 1970 s to encourage women s participation in the leagues activities and to provide them with a platform of representation The nature and scope of the Oshwal Youth League s activities is vast and endless but its objectives have remained constant: bring people together to celebrate culture, benevolence and pluralism. Our Aims and Objectives To promote educational, sports, physical, mental, social, moral and cultural advancement of the members of the community around us. To undertake charitable activities for the relief of poverty and/ or person(s) in distress who reside in Kenya. For more information on the OYL visit our website at THE EVENT Description The Oshwal Awards is an evening where we honour and appreciate the exemplary achievements and contributions that Visa Oshwals have made across all aspects of Life. The 1 st awards looked at the period of 2010 to It was then decided to hold the event biennially where the judges will be looking at the achievements and contributions from public nominated individuals over the years 2016 to The proceeds from the event will go towards our charity initiatives, primarily in regards to education. Initially the public will hear about the event through our initial posters, after which the announcement for the opening of nominations. Once the finalists are listed we will list them on the awards website where the public will vote for the people s choice award. On the award evening itself we will have a crowd of over 600 in attendance with a booklet on each table breaking down the event and nominations. MARKETING We will be marketing the event through the following mediums: Oshwal Awards website ( Radio Posters (nominations, Voting and Event posters) at various locations across the city E shots to our database (2,000+ people) Social media (WhatsApp, Facebook and Twitter) Oshwal networks in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda 5
