1 Addendum No. 1 February 17 ADDENDUM No. 1 To the Contract Documents for: BUNCOMBE COUNTY SCHOOLS T.C. ROBERSON HIGH SCHOOL (RFP 10-17) SYNTHETIC TURF FIELD REPLACEMENT 175 BINGHAM RD. Box 5269 Albany, NY TO ALL BIDDERS: The following Addendum contains clarifications and revisions to the construction documents issued for bid February 10, 2017 for the above mentioned project. This addendum forms a part of the Contract Documents and modifies all previously issued specifications and drawings. Bidders shall update their Bidding Documents with the information contained in this Addendum. Where new Drawings are enclosed with this Addendum, discard the old Drawing and insert the new. Where Supplemental drawings (Sketches) are enclosed with this Addendum, attach the Supplemental Drawing to the documents as noted. Where only written modifications are given, copy the information onto the appropriate Documents and note the Addendum number. All items contained herein shall be included with the Bid. Acknowledge receipt of this addendum by inserting the number and date on the bid form. Note: This addendum does /does not modify the bid due date. CLARIFICATIONS: A. All references to the gold color on the new synthetic turf field (4 wide soccer lines, midfield logo border and endzones logos border) shall be changed to read Custom Vegas Gold (Final Pantone Color to be provided by Owner). B. As part of the scope of this project, new electrical junction boxes are to be installed as well as new conduits and connections to existing junction boxes. This work will require an electrical contractor and MAY require an electrical permit. This will be the responsibility of the contractor. Attached is a list of local electrical contractors for consideration. ADD1-1

As part of the scope of this project, the existing synthetic turf midfield logo shall be cut out in its entirety and in one piece, the infill should be completely removed and the logo shall be placed on the home side steep slope just south of the home bleachers. The logo shall be fastened down using garden stakes, railroad spikes or equal in a grid at 36 on center each direction. The location can be seen on the attached aerial figure. CONTRACT DRAWINGS: A. Revisions to the Drawings 1. REPLACE DRAWING C-203 IN ITS ENTIRETY WITH THE ATTACHED. 2. On drawing C-201, revise one of the notes referring to the football goal post being removed and disposed of to read Add Alternate #1 - One existing goal post shall be removed and relocated to the existing practice football field with a new concrete foundation. The existing football goal post is a baseplate and anchor type. The new concrete foundation shall match the foundation as shown on detail 2 of drawings C-603. No access frame kit is necessary. The relocated goal post shall be placed in the location of the current goal post on the existing practice football field. This location is approximately ½ mile travel distance away from the turf field. See attached aerial image of its location. See also attached revised proposal form for the Add Alternate #1. The TC Roberson High School project will NOT need to stop construction for graduation. There is no need to stop and restart construction as originally scheduled. 3. Question: On plan sheet C-201 demolition plan it calls for turf and infill to come out, nothing else. On plan sheet C-603 Site detail, Detail No. 5 it calls for new 6 of stone to go in, this would leave the turf six inches above existing curb. Should existing base come out as well with demo and be replaced or shall existing base stay and only turf and infill be replaced. Please clarify. Answer: The existing base stone may stay in place in most areas of the field, but new base stone and new topping stone will be required to get up to new finish grade per drawing C-203. The existing topping stone at the field edges will need to be fine graded and may need to be supplemented with new stone to match finish grades. ATTACHMENTS: 1. Pre-bid Sign-in Sheet 2.
