Income generation is the backbone of the organisation ensuring we deliver the income set within our financial plan to meet the needs of the service St Vincent s Hospice provide to the people of Renfrewshire. As part of our trading team, you will have excellent customer service skills, with minimum 3 years experience within a retail environment. Fashion brand awareness and attention to detail is vital within the role. The ability to work within a fast paced, ever changing environment is essential. Good merchandising skills are desirable as is an awareness of current waste disposal regulations. Current driving licence and own vehicle is essential, as travel within the Renfrewshire area is required. Merchandising shops in compliance with Trading Operation Manual. To communicate effectively with volunteers. To deliver the highest level of customer service at all times. To be conscious of the security of the premises, and ensure all H&S & fire regulations are being followed. To ensure that rotas are covered and shops are opened at the times specified for each shop. To sort donated items and replenish the stock. To follow pricing structure and maximise returns from donated goods. 3. DIMENSIONS Work with the Business team to increase income generation within SVH trading LTD, and assist with cost controls Premises:- 10 Shops located within Renfrewshire 4. 4 5. ORGANISATIONAL POSITION Board CEO Director of Income Generation Director of care Consultant in Palliative Medicine Trading Support Manager Shop supervisor x4 6. Role of Department Maximise sale opportunities. To follow pricing guides for all shop. To ensure all shops are trading within scheduled hours. To look for new opportunities for income generation. To merchandise shops to the highest standards and follow the merchandising pricing structure. To be brand aware. Training and coaching volunteers. Communicate effectively with all volunteers and customers. To provide excellent customer service. To meet and exceed targets set, and all budget requirements. To report figures on a weekly basis. To attend weekly meetings. To promote shop on social media in compliance with SVH guidelines. 7. MAIN TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Participate in all areas of the duty rota. Participate in finance meeting to discuss income and expenses within shops, and share ideas for further income generation. To follow H&S guidelines and report any faults or repairs to the maintenance manager. To maintain a high standard merchandising. To complete required mandatory training. To consistently deliver high levels of customer service. To support other shops when requested. To cash up all monies at the end of the shift when required. To maximise sales opportunities. To liaise with volunteer co-ordinator with any issues regarding volunteers. To coach and develop volunteers.
5 Follow the pricing structure at all times. To sort donated items and ensure that salvage stock is sorted appropriately. Ensure that shops are kept clean and tidy and free from clutter. To follow the merchandising guidelines. To meet targets set, and ensure costs are kept within budget. To review sales regularly and action plans for underperforming. To attend weekly meetings. Ensure the premises are secure at all times. To follow the lone working policy. Window displays and in store displays to be rotated weekly. Petty cash procedure to be followed. To promote gift aid. To promote fundraising activities. Clean current driving license/use of own vehicle. 8. (a) EQUIPMENT AND MACHINERY Heating system Fire Panel Till Steamers Hoovers Mobile Phones Computer 8. DECISIONS AND JUDGEMENTS Accountable to the Trading Support Manager although able to act using own initiative within area of responsibility. Any changes to layout of shops must be agreed by the Trading Support Manager No equipment is to be moved without prior agreement 11. MOST CHALLENGING/DIFFICULT PARTS OF THE JOB Income generation and controlling spends Working within a small team with a diverse range of staff/volunteers. Adaption to the changes implemented and remaining positive.
