1 5S IMPLEMENTER TRAINING WHAT IS 5S? 5S is a basic, fundamental, systematic approach for productivity, quality and safety improvement in all types of business. It is a simple tool for organizing your workplace in a clean, efficient and safe manner to enhance your productivity, visual management and to ensure the introduction of standardized working. WHY 5S? Many manufacturing facilities have opted to follow the path towards a 5S workplace organizational and housekeeping methodology as part of continuous improvement or lean manufacturing processes. 5S is a system to reduce waste and optimize productivity through maintaining an orderly workplace and using visual cues to achieve more consistent operational results. The term refers to five steps sort, set in order, shine, standardize, and sustain that are also sometimes known as the 5 pillars of a visual workplace. 5S programs are usually implemented by small teams working together to get materials closer to operations, right at workers fingertips and organized and labeled to facilitate operations with the smallest amount of wasted time and materials. HOW THIS PROGRAMME IS DIFFERENT: THIS PROGRAM INCLUDES Presentation, Case Studies & Role Plays. 5S represents 5 disciplines to maintain visual at workplace. It is a fundamental activity to improve business. 5S represents systematic approach for productivity, quality and safety improvement in all types of business. It is one of the important approaches in journey of continuous improvement is 5S. OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAM: A 5 S program focuses on having visual order, organization, cleanliness and standardization. The results you can expect from a Five S program are: improved profitability, efficiency, service and safety.

2 After completion of the training the participants shall gain in-depth knowledge on the 5S concept and shall be able to understand and answer the following questions with ease What is Separating, refers to the practice of going through all the tools, materials, etc., in the work area and keeping only essential items. What is Sorting, it focuses on the need for an orderly workplace. Orderly in this sense means arranging the tools and equipment in an order that promotes work flow. What is Shine, it indicates the need to keep the workplace clean as well as neat. What is Standardizing, this refers to standardized work practices. What is Sustaining, it refers to maintain standards. TARGET PARTICIPANTS: The 5S Implementation Training Program is for all levels of Industry professional (pertaining to any industries). It is the most appropriate program for all industry professional holding positions of responsibility within functional departments of large, medium and small business houses or those who shall be joining the industry. WHO SHOULD APPLY? 1) Any individual who wish to learn 5S. 2)Any individual who wish to implement real time project. The interested candidates are requested to send their registration form (attached with the mail) along with bank draft or multi-city A/C payee cheque drawn in favor of Quality Foundation payable at Kolkata to one of the coordinators. Late registrations are regretted! Total number of seats is restricted to 20. COURSE FEES :- The fee for the ONE-DAY Program is Rs. 3,500/- + applicable service tax per candidate. The course fee includes training kits, lunch and tea/ coffee & refreshments during lecture schedule. The course fee DOES NOT include accommodation for the participants. 5 CERTIFICATE A certificate of successful completion of the course will be issued to those participants who satisfactorily complete the continuous assessment.
