1 Position Description Relationship Coordinator Te Hau Maia Role Title: Relationships Coordinator Te Hau Maia Role Reports to: Manager, Te Hau Maia Reporting to this Role: Functional Relationships: Purpose and Primary Goals of the Role: N/A Chief Executives Office, Service Development, Corporate Services, Kaumātua and key external stakeholders. Te Rau Matatini Ltd, as a national Māori health workforce development organisation, develops and promotes Māori workforce solutions that enhance recruitment, retention, leadership development and excellence in training and career pathways. The role of Relationship Coordinator, Te Hau Maia, is a permanent position designed to assist with the delivery of the He Ara Toiora project. This project is an innovative approach to reducing Māori childhood obesity through the use of customised Te Reo Māori e-learning products and mobile applications. These products will initially be designed for use in Kōhanga Reo, Kura Kaupapa, Kāinga and Marae. The Relationship Coordinator will be responsible for the day to day management of the Programme including coaching and support for Kaiako and primary caregivers to use the programme, and may include weekly interactive sessions with tamariki along with monitoring and reporting. 2 About Te Rau Matatini Te Rau Matatini is a national Māori health and disability workforce development organisation which has been operating since Our focus is on nationally navigated locally led solutions to Māori health and health workforce requirements. We enable this by supporting Māori Health Leadership, designing innovative workforce solutions, delivering culturally relevant workforce training and responding to the needs of Māori communities through innovative service design and research. Te Rau Matatini also provides a number of scholarships to build and strengthen the Māori Health workforce. Te Rau Matatini is contracted by Health Workforce New Zealand, within the Ministry of Health, as the national centre for the Māori Mental Health and Addiction Workforce. Our focus is to: Foster the strength of Māori health leadership through the implementation of the Henry Rongomau Bennett Foundation Leadership Programme Implement dual-competencies into training curricula, career pathways, scope of practice and professional development programmes Promote the early recognition and appropriate intervention of mental health in other health and broader whānau ora and primary health sectors Extend health training and career pathways for Māori in nursing, whānau ora and primary health sectors Promote and award workforce scholarships and bursaries for Māori mental health and addictions workforces Support Māori Health research and development Ensure all Te Rau Matatini workforce solutions are accessible at the front-line, in areas where it is challenging to recruit or retain, and areas that are regionally responsive Work with the other key sector organisation to encourage networking and collaboration both nationally and internationally Te Rau Matatini is also a leader in Māori Suicide Prevention, and also provides training and support for the Māori Public Health Workforces. He Ara Toiora Web Portal maintenance Coordinate He Ara Hapori, a 6-month initiative supporting local marae and Māori community groups to engage in He Ara Toiora. Manage the maintenance of information, fact sheets and wellness plans. Manage the online registration process and web analytics. Provide advice on the requirement improvement for use of the web portal and materials. Establish the He Ara Toiora event, themed for nutrition and physical wellness that is focused on bringing registered whanau and community groups together. Information and materials are kept up to date. Registration is monitored and related issues resolved. Project plan is sufficiently developed to progress the plan; outputs are clear and can be measured accurately. Project risks are effectively managed/escalated as directed by the Manager, Te Hau Maia. Consultation and collaboration with Wai Whetu and other stakeholders is successfully managed. Project reporting Liaison and communication Planning/teamwork Quality Management Develop and deliver progress reports. Provide discussion, recommendation and review papers as requested on assigned project work. Support and disseminate marketing and achievement information. Consult and collaborate with stakeholders on projects. Ensure internal stakeholders are kept informed about project developments which affect them in a timely way. Contribute to the development of the annual Te Hau Māia business plan. Work collaboratively with colleagues in the interests of TRM. Comply with and support the ongoing management of Te Hau Māia s quality management system and processes. Project work is documented and documents and records are controlled and managed effectively. Project reporting and communication is accurate, and delivered on time. Written papers are well presented, clear, timely and relevant. Stakeholders express satisfaction with the level of involvement and information they receive about the project. Implementation is successful (stakeholder expectations are met) The planning process is well informed through meaningful contributions. Internal relationships are successfully managed. All documentation and processes comply with the quality system (PTE and ISO accreditation).
