Job Description for the post of: Student Recruitment Communications Coordinator (2 posts) EHA posts (one permanent post and one fixed term maternity cover for 6 months in the first instance) The post holder will be: Accountable to: Responsible to: Head of Student Recruitment Student Recruitment and Conversion Manager Main purpose of the post: To assist in ensuring that Edge Hill University provides a customer-focussed and efficient experience for prospective students, from initial enquiry through to arrival at the University. The post holder will be responsible for the co-ordination of tailored, personalised multi-channel communications which are used to ensure effective recruitment and conversion of students. Main duties of the post Role Specific: 1. To contribute to an annual communication plan to build relationships and engage with enquirers and applicants. 2. To source and write high quality, relevant and engaging copy for a variety of Customer Relationship Management communications, ensuring that the message is accurate, fit for purpose and adds value. 3. To take an active role in the university s conversion activity, working with Academic Departments and Support Services to deliver high quality, personalised communications. 4. To work with Academic staff and Support Services to create engaging video content to convey key messages and monitor and evaluate the impact of this work. 5. To lead on the development and delivery of a range of high quality print materials for use throughout the recruitment cycle.

2 6. To work closely with the university s Marketing Team to ensure that all communications and publications are on brand, high quality and appropriate for the target audience. 7. To project manage key recruitment campaigns using a range of media, including developing and enhancing online webpages, proactively monitoring the impact and making suggestions for improving the output and reach. 8. Recruit, select and train Edge Hill students to share the student voice with prospective students through rich content, including blogs and vlogs. General: 9. To support colleagues in the Course Enquiries Team in handling initial course enquiries via telephone and To support the delivery of Student Recruitment Events, such as Open Days and Applicant Visit Days. 11. To demonstrate excellent Customer Service when dealing with all customers of the Student Recruitment Team. 12. To make a positive contribution to the work of the Student Recruitment Team. 13. To undertake any other duties as required by the line manager. In addition to the above all Edge Hill staff are required to: a) Adhere to all Edge Hill s policies and procedures, including Equality and Diversity and Health and Safety. b) Respect confidentiality: all confidential information should be kept in confidence and not released to unauthorised persons. c) Undertake appropriate training and development as required. d) Participate in Edge Hill s Performance Review and Development Scheme. e) Adhere to Edge Hill University s environmental policy and guidelines and undertake tasks in a sustainable manner. f) Demonstrate excellent customer care in dealing with all customers.

3 Salary Range: Scale 4, Points ,989 22,876 Hours: 36 ¼ hours per week It is expected that the post holder will work flexibly according to the demands and responsibility of the job, as evening and weekend work will be required.

4 PERSON SPECIFICATION FORM Student Recruitment Communications Coordinator EHA CRITERIA: Applicants should provide evidence of their ability to meeting the following criteria: Qualifications Educated to degree level or to have relevant work experience Essential Desirable Assessment Method * A Relevant professional qualification * A Experience and knowledge Experience of working within a communications and/or marketing role * A,I Detailed knowledge of marketing and Customer Relationship Management processes. Experience of writing engaging marketing copy for publication and web for a range of different audiences. Experience of collating information from a range of different sources and presenting it in a structured and coherent way Experience of coordinating complex design and print projects Experience of developing engaging video content for use across a variety of different platforms. Experience of working across teams demonstrating the ability to communicate, influence and collaborate with others successfully. Experience of working in the Higher Education sector and a good knowledge of the undergraduate application process. Abilities/Skills Ability to use Microsoft Office and have the capability to learn new systems and software Able to utilise WordPress as a webpage content management system Excellent communication and negotiating skills with people at different levels (both verbal and written), T, T, T * A,I,T

5 Able to manage and prioritise own workload, working on own initiative and self-sufficiency on a day to day basis Ability to work well under pressure, managing tight deadlines and conflicting demands, whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail Ability to demonstrate creative flair and to, T think creatively to develop and improve existing communications.
