2 TERMS OF REFERENCE Position Title: Location: Responsible to: Term of Position: Project Finance Manager Melbourne CBD Organisation Service Manager 6 months 1 st Week of December 2011 to June 2012 (Maternity Position) BACKGROUND Live & Learn Environmental Education s mission is to reduce poverty and foster greater understanding and action towards a sustainable future through education, community mobilization and supportive partnerships. Whilst maintaining a non political image we work with aid organisations, governments, inter governmental organisations and non government organisations from all over the world sharing knowledge for a sustainable planet and linking environmental knowledge to social change. The prime focus of Live & Learn is the integration of environmental, cultural and development concepts in extensive education programs for the younger generation in countries across South East Asia and the Pacific. THE POSITION Reporting to the Organisation Services Manager, working closely with the other finance staff and managers locates in other countries. This position is responsible for assisting with the development of budgets, matching actual to budget expenditures and preparing acquittal for donors to their standards, requirements and other duties. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Review major projects compare actual expenditure to budgets. 2. Prepare revised budgets and acquittals to the standards required by donors. 3. Prepare monthly financial reports on projects and distribute and discuss outcomes with managers of projects. 4. Maintain fixed asset register. 5. Record and reconcile transfer of funds to other countries. 6. Review Melbourne office actual expenses to budget on a monthly basis. 7. Prepare monthly bank reconciliation. 8. Provide support to Melbourne office and other countries as required. 9. Other accounting/accumulation duties as required. REQUIREMENTS 1. Preference for a degree or diploma in accounting. 2. Experience working for a NGO will be well regarded (Preferably in cross cultural context). 3. Experience in MYOB is essential. 4. Efficient in Word, Excel and the use of a PC. 5. Numeric skills, written and verbal communication skills. 6. Typing and data entry skills. 7. Good communication and interpersonal skills. 8. Good time management skills. 9. Attention to detail is important. 10. Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
