POSITION SUMMARY Job Title Location Reporting to Hours per week Chief Financial Officer South Melbourne, Victoria Hagar Australia CEO 2.5 days per week, with some additional hours around busy periods. The appointment will be subject to satisfactory completion of a Working with Children and Police Check. POSITION DESCRIPTION The Chief Financial Officer plays a key leadership role at Hagar Australia. Working closely with the CEO, the CFO is responsible for budget and financial management and reporting, including Board reporting, audit management, regulatory compliance and operational projects. It is also responsible for managing the book-keeping function for the organisation. The position works closely with all staff, the Board Finance lead, and finance staff within Hagar International and its program offices. hagar.org.au Partnership Manager JD Page 2 of 5

3 RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Annual Financial Statements and Budget Preparation of Annual Financial Reports for the consolidated Hagar Australia entity Management of external audit Preparation of financial component of Annual Report High-level analysis of Hagar Australia s financial performance, projections and external trends likely to impact our financial position Annual budget preparation, tracking and reporting Management of Hagar s banking relationships. Regulatory Reporting Monthly Reporting Board and Executive Support Operational Projects Preparation and lodgement of tax returns, including IAS, PAYG and FBT Regular reporting to governments and other regulatory and industry entities, such as the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission and the Australian Council for International Development. Ensuring Hagar has up-to-date charitable collections licences in all relevant states and territories Management of Hagar s insurances and liabilities. Monthly Financial Reporting, including cash flow projections, to Hagar Australia s Board Monthly Financial Reporting to Hagar International for governance, cash flow and consolidation purposes Performance analysis of donations, appeals, events and costs Managing and tracking fund allocations to overseas program offices Cash and asset management and forecasting Attend Hagar Australia Board meetings, present financial report and take minutes Provide high-level support and advice to the CEO Identifying, scoping and implementing new efficiencies and solutions to strengthen Hagar Australia s finance functions, automation with its Customer Relationship Management database, overseas transfers, banking, human resource management and compliance obligations. hagar.org.au Partnership Manager JD Page 3 of 5

4 KEY SELECTION CRITERIA Essential CA or CPA qualified Technical skills and experience in full general ledger accounting Excel skills (advanced) Experience using MYOB Proven record of accuracy and meeting strict deadlines Ability to operate and analyse finances at both the strategic and detailed levels.
