Job Status: Full Time Pay Status: Non Exempt Job Grade: 805 Date Created / Revised 8/10/2015 Position Summary The Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) Operator inspects all sewer line construction projects to ensure that the work conforms to applicable and current federal, state, and local regulations and statutes. The CCTV Operator also maintains and operates the mobile sewer TV Inspection system and conducts internal TV inspections of existing and new sewer collection mains. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Apply expert knowledge of all water utility regulations necessary to recognizing errors in construction projects and recommend solutions to manage these inaccuracies. Troubleshoots and diagnoses repairs to system infrastructure using leak detection equipment and Closed Circuit Television equipment. Codes and stores all televised footage using NASCO PACP coding format. Maintains an infrastructure database within the Pipe Tech software forum and NBU s CMMS, which will be shared with the engineering department for future CIP projects. Quality checks line cleaning activities to ensure proper cleaning of NBU s infrastructure Televise Pre Cleaned lines to provide cleaning direction for line cleaning crews. Supervise a small crew in the absence of a supervisor in a manner that is consistent with established operating procedures and the supervisor s goals and directions. Utilize current versions of computer software and hardware provided by NBU to create user friendly spreadsheets, databases, letters, reports, and other documents that are clear, accurate, and grammatically correct. Communicate effectively with peers, customers, and city entities so that messages and directions regarding water and sewer line construction projects and inspections are clearly understood by all parties involved. Ensure that established safety procedures are carried out. Investigate and resolve customer complaints with courtesy and professionalism. Explore creative and innovative ways of approaching assigned tasks and resolving dilemmas. Establish and monitor priorities, and move projects forward to achieve effective and timely results. Demonstrate receptivity to new ideas and approaches, and adapt with flexibility to accommodate any changes in priorities or circumstances.

2 Maintain composure and commitment to work during periods of stress and heavy workload. Smoke testing of manholes. Televising sewer mains and sewer laterals using various coding systems. Installation of manhole to manhole cured in place pipe (CIPP). Quality control inspections of collection system manholes. Two years of experience as a Line Inspector or some equivalent experience is required; Experience in

3 NBU s Water/Wastewater System is recommended. A valid Texas Driver s License is required to operate a company vehicle. TCEQ Collections II Certification NASCO PACP Certification within 1 year Minimum Qualifications The employee will be required to work outdoors and engage in activities such as climbing, squatting, bending, kneeling and occasional to frequent lifting of tools and equipment (10 35lbs). Pushing/Pulling manhole lids up to 80lbs. Outdoor environment may result in working conditions which include undesirable weather conditions, pet/insect hazards, mechanical/electrical/chemical hazards, confined spaces, poison ivy, and excessive noise, odors, and fumes.
