2 Fundraising and Database Officer An exciting opportunity has arisen to join one of Australia s most successful public interest and pro bono law organisations. Justice Connect is a not-for-profit organisation with a vision of a world that is fair and just; where rights are respected and advanced, laws are fairer, and systems are more accessible and accountable. Justice Connect provides access to justice through pro bono legal services to people experiencing disadvantage and the community organisations that support them. We also address injustice through law reform, policy work and legal education. We are currently seeking a Fundraising and Database Officer to provide support for Justice Connect s fundraising through the effective administration and utilisation of the Salesforce database, coordination of fundraising events, and prospect research to enable the deepening of relationships and identify potential new donors. If you have strong administrative and interpersonal skills, experience in the not-for-profit or legal sector, and a desire to make a difference for human rights and social justice, we look forward to hearing from you. 3 Position description Position title Position reports to Salary Employment status Hours Fundraising and Database Officer Fundraising Manager Pro rata of $55, per annum, plus 9.5% superannuation, annual leave loading and generous salary packaging options 1 Permanent hours a week (0.5 FTE) Location Level 17, 461 Bourke Street Melbourne VIC 3000 Closing date 5:30pm Wednesday 27 July 2016 For further information Phone Barb Taylor, Fundraising Manager on Role purpose The Fundraising and Database Officer is responsible for providing support for Justice Connect s fundraising through the effective administration and utilisation of the Salesforce database; coordination of fundraising events; and prospect research to enable the deepening of relationships and identify potential new donors. Key responsibilities Develop and maintain data in our Salesforce CRM, for relationship management, events and distribution lists for communications. Ensure accurate data importing and exporting for fundraising activities (including from/to MS Excel) so that donors and prospective donors are targeted and communicated with appropriately. Support the development of new reports and systems for tracking donors, prospects and giving behaviour through Salesforce. Be a key point of contact for internal stakeholders using Salesforce, including creation of new contacts, updates to contact information and merging of duplicate records. Provide administrative and coordination support, including guest list oversight, for Justice Connect s events that relate to fundraising activity (including but not limited to major donor dinners, public events with a fundraising / donor acquisition component and third party fundraising initiatives).) Develop and maintain systems to support and report on events. Be a key point of contact with internal and external stakeholders for Justice Connect events. Perform other duties as directed and necessary to the proper performance of the role This job description outlines the current duties and responsibilities of the position. These will be reviewed on a regular basis with the position holder and are subject to change according to the needs and priorities of Justice Connect and the Service. 1 As a Public Benevolent Institution, Justice Connect is able to offer staff generous salary packaging options. 4 Selection criteria Technical expertise/qualifications Experience Knowledge, skills & attributes High level of competency in MS Office software (in particular Excel, Outlook, Word) and relationship management databases Significant experience in an administrative role, in particular: Accurate and efficient data entry Exporting and reporting from relational databases Coordination of events Desk research, including collation and communication of information to deadlines Experience working for a not-for-profit organisation (highly desirable) Experience using Salesforce (highly desirable) A commitment to Justice Connect s vision and values and an interest in social justice and human rights issues Exceptional attention to detail Strong communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills to enable professional interaction with a range of people including senior managers, staff, Board members, and representatives from other organisations Excellent memory for making connections between people and organisations Understanding of fundraising techniques, principles and processes (highly desirable) Confidence, discretion and willingness to take ownership for tasks and work collaboratively across teams and offices Ability to work autonomously and without close supervision An aptitude for problem solving including the use of initiative and creativity to achieve positive outcomes Highly developed time management skills and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and to effectively manage multiple projects including the organisation of events Professional and motivated with a strong work ethic
