About the role The purpose of this role is to design, configure and maintain EA Networks Operational/Information Technology IP Networks Public Fibre Broadband, Digital Mobile Radio and SCADA. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that our suite of networks is highly secure and reliable, while also supporting EA Networks staff and Retail Service Providers in achieving their desired outcomes.

2 Required Skills & Experience At least two years of proven experience in Network Design (Config) and Maintenance (support). Good knowledge and experience with troubleshooting network issues. Preferably experienced with Allied Telesis Networking equipment. Experienced with protocols e.g. OSPF, Ring protocols (EAPS, EPSR), NTP, SNMP, TFTP, FTP, RSTP, IGMP, VRRP, etc. Preferably experienced with DHCP/DNS. Security and Firewalls Experience. Experienced with VLANing, Switching and Routing. Knowledge of MPLS network design, GPON architecture and Ethernet Standards. Experienced with network monitoring tools. Wireless network planning and maintenance. Linux Server management (including scripting). Understanding of fibre-optic networks. Voice and data design. Load monitoring and management. CCNA or equivalent certification.

4 Position Description Position: Responsible to: Approved by: Purpose: Network Engineer Engineering Services Manager Network Manager To design, configure and maintain EA Networks Operational/Information Technology (O/IT) IP Networks Public Fibre Broadband, Digital Mobile Radio and SCADA. Also, to support EA Networks staff and Retail Service Providers in achieving their desired outcomes. Hours of Work: 40 hours per week - 8 hours per day Monday to Friday between 7am 7pm. There may be some flexibility around these hours. KEY RESPONSIBLITIES: 1. Health and Safety To promote and practice positive Health and Safety. Demonstrated by: Ensuring that all team members are aware of and follow company health and safety policies and procedures. Making sure that safety of public and personnel is considered in every decision and recommendation relating to engineered deliverables. Practising skills in accordance to all electricity industry safety rules and guidelines. 2. O/IT Networks Development To enhance EA Networks O/IT Networks while keeping system resiliency at fore front. Demonstrated by: Being abreast of offerings from Networking vendors/specialists. Enhancing O/IT Networks platform(s) to enable operational reliability and security. Owning and continually leading the process of defining O/IT Networks road map. Implementing and managing a continuous improvement process to improve O/IT Network platform(s). Designing, configuring and commissioning Network schemes. Liaising with external stakeholders (e.g. Retail Service Providers) to configure and implement commercially approved deliverables. 3. Project Management/Execution Leading and/or supporting assigned O/IT related projects. Demonstrated by: As at 20 th April 2018 Page 1 of 6

5 Assisting project teams to deliver project objectives. Actively contributing to project(s) scope, process and execution. Ensuring that deliverables are of approved quality/standard. Reporting on project progress/status. 4. Networks Maintenance Support and Maintenance of O/IT Networks Demonstrated by: Ensuring that suite of Networks are highly secure and reliable. Managing with upkeep of support and maintenance contracts for Network product range Hardware and Software. Maintaining a close-working relationship with EA Networks Corporate IT team to ensure that there is a secure handover at interconnection points of the various O/IT Networks. Promptly attending to O/IT Network faults and failures. Managing of emergency spares (electronics) and procedures. 5. Training and Support Assisting internal staff to achieve reliable and secure Networking driven objectives. Demonstrated by: Assisting Electrical and SCADA Engineers to develop and maintain a reliable Networks to address OT needs. Assisting with Fibre customer provisioning process and customer relations. Facilitating O/IT technical training for staff to fulfil their roles. Liaising with other staff and departments to ensure the integrity of corporate-wide systems and processes are linked to O/IT Networks. 6. Administration Documenting progress and outcomes. Demonstrated by: Continually documenting of O/IT Networks road map and programme of works. Preparing and disseminating monthly reports of work(s) in progress and future objectives. Documenting Network configurations, deliverables, training/support material and user guide. Executing procurement of O/IT Networks related hardware and software. Updating network information records, monitoring and asset management systems with O/IT Network assets for financial and scheduled maintenance purposes. 7.
